Problems with Flight1 software

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby happytraveller » Thu Mar 01, 2007 3:05 pm

Just wondering if anybody else has had bad experiences with Flight1 software.

Long long story but I ordered the download version of Flight Environment, went through the complicated business of setting up transfer files and licence files (just like they ordered) then after installing it all, it would not work. Many messages sent to Flight1 software, but they do not seem to want to help, and now are not answering the messages at all. No direct email address on their website, and some useless customer service.

Anybody else had problems with Flight1 Software.???

Next stage will be to dispute the credit card payment, but a lot of hassle due to them. For now, I will just have to fly around with FS9 clouds and weather instead.

Smooth landings!!

PS sticking to FS9 until I can afford Vista and a new computer to run FSX.

...and DX10!
Does your email return address match your sending address?
This previously caused me a problem.

Have you tried sending them a 'trouble ticket' here: http://www.flight1.com/ticket.asp

sent messages to Flight1 Software, but they do not reply, and I cannot find a direct email address for them on their website.

Seems like they have got my money, and now will not answer messages, so perhaps the only course of action left will be to dispute the credit card payment.

Just goes to show how good the service is from people like Red Baron and RealNZ, always helpful and good service from them.

Update on the latest.

Finally, after sending many emails to Flight one via their contact section, got a reply. They said that they had refunded my money, but what a surprise to find that it is still not showing on my credit card statement.

Not sure how many hours and how many attempts that I have had to install the Flight Environment software via the download process, but life is too short to spend hours putting in a single piece of software that should be simple to install.

Other companies seem to make downloading and installing simple, so why should Flight 1 be any different. It would not be so bad if they actually answered the messages that got sent to them.

So for now I am stuck with the standard FS clouds. I will believe their statement about a refund when I see it!!

So if anybody else is thinking of downloading from the Flight1 site, then beware!! Too much hassle and aggrevation for me!!

Hmm - downloaded quite a bit from Flight 1 (and about to again tonight) and had no problems - I am pretty sure the refund will come through eventually.

Bit more info....

I was downloading the software to transfer to a non-internet connected machine (where the FS is). Followed Flight 1s instructions to transfer to a non-internet connected machine, but no joy.

Still no refund as at 9th March either.

Given their poor customer service (eg ignoring emails), I will not use them again.

Smooth Landings.

In fairness to Flight 1 I have downloaded a lot of thier software and never experienced any problems _ would keep trying to contact them - a little persitance may pay off.
