My 'poor mans' X-52....

On the left is a Saitek ST200, which controls trim, gear, flaps, brakes.

The right stick is a Saitek Evo, which to be honest does b*gger all in FS apart from operate control surfaces, change views, reverse thrust, throttle mainly. I have all buttons mapped mainly for IL2, guns, cannons, bombs, padlocks, external view, internal view, map etc

The pedals under the desk are from a Genius Speedwheel setup running via a Gameport adapter to USB. They are my rudders. My only complaint is they are too close together.

I passed the 'idea' of getting the Saitek X52 and pedals package past the good lady yesterday whilst shopping. I don't think she was overly impressed despite my enthusiasm...

hmmm

i'm using a microsoft precision pro joystick. easily the best joysticks ever made, the optics are far more reliable than using potentiometers- the pots on my logitech pedals failed within a year of minimal usage.

Brownbox, yep FS picks them all up, as does IL2. IDE 0, 1 and 2.

Zöltuger, What I meant was I haven't really mapped out many controls in FS to the buttons. The stick itself is as smooth as silk, and the best I have owned to date. :D

my saitek cyborg does wierd things

first of all the throttle keeps changing how easy the throttle is moved it's sometimes good or its sometimes to light.

when i put throttle to 0 it dosnt go to 0 on the planes it stays a little bit above you can see with the 747 that it isnt right.

I dont like the look of the x52 its like a stick from star trek ,ive got the x45 and evo stick set up with playstation steering wheel& pedels plus gamepad thats six controlers all up and they all work at the same time together no problem just plug and play,

i dont use the x45 stick because its so big and ugly and i havent set the spring ties up on it like the evo ,plus its no good for scenery placement {most important}
x52 has got rudder now and lots of big displays WOW and still looks like you should be in space
i cant amagine how it would feel flying a tigermoth with it the two seem 100 or so years apart ...

I've just got the MS Sidewinder Precision 2. Have had it for years and never had a problem with it.

It's pretty basic compared to a HOTAS etc and I would love to get a CH yoke setup but I don't know if I could justify the expense..

yeah id love a set of ch pedels or maybe the newer saitek ones ,but at the end of the day acouple of the guys around here talked about the steering wheel ones ,but i only had ps2 one and found that i could buy the above usb thingy to plug in with it ,
the only thing about them as they work like buttons not a smooth axis making chopper landings real hard.ive tryed different settings but no luck with it yet <_<
all the same they do give you a different feel for it all ..

I have a Saitek X45 plus I'm in the process of modifying a SUNCOM F-15 Split throttle by installing a Plasma Lite V2.
