AIS-AI

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Does anyone know when ARNZ are going to release their other AIS-AI downloads (e.g. the Props, 727 'OLD SMOKEY', 747 'DREAM' etc)?

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

I might be able to answer this question given I make the AIS-AI models

Nearly all the models are done, I just need to pull finger and make them happen so people can download them. You can see them all on the www.flightsim.co.nz website click the ATC Project link on the menu and scroll down to the Aircraft Image Library.

The biggest thing is the LOD models, thats what takes the time with AI models. Most of them are only 1 LOD at this stage, but I thought I might release anyway and then release patches as I get the other LOD models done, what do you think?

The other thing is FSX, the push back tugs are fine for FS9 or FS8, but get in the way for FS10 so I have been asked by PAI to remove the AIS component. So lots of work and thinking ahead as I intend to continue supporting FS9.

I am releasing new AI packs soon that introduce the models as complete packs for airlines. An example is the Cessna C208B Caravan, it will be ready to go with flightplans and skins for Sounds AIr and Air 2 There, my 757-200 will come with RNZAF skin and flightplans for regular fictional inter airport drop-offs etc. You can find out more on the ARNZ WEBSITE

It'd be a shame to lose the AIS component in the AI fleet.
Given we have moved on a generation in computing power, maybe LOD's are not as weighty as they once were?
Be great to have the rest out sooner rather than later, with successive LOD patches if there's an outcry

I thought about this Charl, you may have seen the first props released with the sounds air set, no LOD's on that baby.

I probably will put the rest out sooner rather than later as you say, I'm also considering upgrading them as well, I never found the LOD thing that bigger a deal as the models are basic to start with.
