fs time....

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

I have a little question.

Of course it has something to do with fps but I am actuly wounderding...

If im flying along side someone (online) and they are getting a steady 30fps+ with no stuters at all and im flying along with a stuter every 4seconds and 10fps, will the person with the better performace get ahead of me? like be going faster?

or is the fs time always kept at the same rate (well unless you press R+ :P )?

I wroy about this factor for longer flights when im trying to keep to a airline schedule will a 3 hour flight take 3:10 with poor performance (im getting aprox10 in 2d flightdeck)? cos I keep track of my flighttime from my system clock not fs so I migt ariver late.

Sorry to be going on about performance again i just can't figure this one out.

Thanks
James

Your speed in knots will be exactly the same as your partners.

Your speed will be the same, but if you are on a multiplayer server, you will appear to be moving in stutters. ;)

Edit; That said James, usually the best idea is to use FS time, unless you are flying the flight real-time, usually you'd have to allow for all sorts of crazy time zones as well if this is the case.
