i am alway be productive and learn lots more than just simming getting the basic knowleage to safe there butts if we where going down (simmer comes out of the shadows and safe them all ) :D
i think its still worth trying to explain sometimes and the young ones just lov it when they see planes helicopters etc.. on screen and u say you wanta go  me they say ,
oh its all worth it im keep on saying to my youngest boy you going to be a heli pilot when you grow up nah dad fixwing :(

simming to me is a dream ive always had and with the way money goes i will never get to forfull my dreams without simming, and cheap no av gas in my aircraft save my family lots in that department

I must be one of the lucky ones.My wife understands and so did my kids, now I have grandchildren I have taught them to fly cennas and pipers.Their landings are still alittle rough but they enjoy it as much as I do.Had to buy another computer for when they come and stay, couldn't get to mine until I did that.Friends still think That I'm trying to relive my youth, and the subject only gets bored to blank looks.Heck, who cares what they think.

Well not us Gokanru. We have this forum so we know we're not alone or crazy.
I do wonder tho about the money I spend on FS,nothing is exactly cheap is it?
I've decided I won't buy the Matrox 3 monitor thing($500) and I'll go the 'build your own projector out of an old 14 or 15 inch LCD screen and an old overhead projector instead. The instructions are at tomshardware.com. They reckon it should cost $300 or less.(U.S. dollars no doubt!)
2 wrongs don't make a right but 2 Wrights made an aeroplane!

Yea...
what you guys have said is soo true. i have now completely given up on trying to explain to my mates about flight sim. most people that i have talked to tend to have the 1st impression of flight sim as it's "boring"... sigh... they'll never understand.

If they aren't into flight sim, they aren't my friends! Let's put that in perspective - most of my friends ARE simmers!
My kids ask what's new, and tolerate my tales of tweaked sceneries and repainted Cessnas. My grandkids are happy to crash the planes on my computer, though one at least takes pride in keeping airborne for more than two minutes.
We will never fully fit among mortals but that's close enough... ;)
