NZAA Afcad2

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Hey guys,

Just wondering what you all use for an Afcad2 for Auckland using the default airport scenery? Seem to be having trouble finding a realistic one with enough space for the heavies, might be time to make one myself if there is nothing out there. :)

Howdy Scott,

Look for af2_nzaa_189503.zip by Roberto Siciliano.

From the ReadMe:

"Default FS2004 Auckland International - NZAA - (New Zealand) AFCAD2 file, with all actual parking positions, exact dimensions of the runway and taxiways and exact lighting and marking aids. VERSION WITHOUT BACKTRACK RWY 05R. As it's in real life the runway 05L/23R is closed and used as taxiway but marked as runway. ...

Includes:
- twenty-three stands for commercial aviation (14 of them are for wide-bodied aircrafts) on the main apron and fourty parking positions on the other aprons (six of them are for wide-bodied aircrafts).

- correct position of general aviation apron with six parking positions (as it's in real life limited to aircraft up to 3000 kg.);

- general aviation maintenance precinct with eight parking positions;

- exact dimensions of the runway and taxiways;

- dedicated stands (Air New Zealand, Qantas, Qantas JetConnect, Air Pacific, Singapore, Cathay, Garuda, Lan Chile, Emirates, Tahiti Nui, Malaysia, Thai, Air Vanuatu, Korean, Aerolineas Argentinas, Singapore Cargo, Cargolux, Air Chathams, Freedom Air, Air Work and Mount Cook Airline);

- exact taxiway and parking names;

- exact lighting and marking aids.

Hope this is of some small assistance.

Hey Dorian,

Have trialled this and his other versions a bit and while he has the layout pretty good, his gate sizes and assignments are pretty messed up, particularly at the domestic terminals. Thanks anyway though :)

Edit: I might email him and ask to use his as a base and alter a few things ;)

Howdy Scott,

Drat; and I had such high hopes for that AFCAD. :( Would be most interested in obtaining a corrected version if you do one.

Yeah, I've started having a wee play. I'm pretty fussy in having things right when it comes to aircraft parking. I'm going to make it so ANZ A320's park at the international terminal. Yes I know they do a few domestics but as a rule they don't. It's a bit harder with QFA though as they use 733's on both international and domestic so it becomes more or less impossible to separate them when the same regos are doing both. Will see how I get on though and let ya know :)

In my AI I've separated out a set of Qantas 733s, so I have some listed QFA and some listed QNZ. The QNZ ones park at the domestic.

Yup that would be the only way around it, unfortunately the fp's that I use have the Jetconnect 733's doing both as in real life. So its a tradeoff for realism, either have some just doing the domestics and use different parking codes or have them doing both domestics and internationals and risk some internationals parking at the domestic terminal or vice versa. :)
