Talking about olden Times...and the year "2006".... Anyone remember the flight sim forum; "Simviation"... started by Pete Daly ? I jonined it in 2006, and have been a Member there ever since, popping in every day! It was the Lads in Simviation that dragged me kicking anf screaming into FSNZ in 2010, when a tour of the Australia and New Zealand Coast was organized, and took place, in Multiplayer... on line! The one thing that has always got me permanantlty attached to FSNZ is the "Chat" forum, where i can have fun with evey day! ...and dont forget the Motorcycle...

Thanks guys. I still miss my FSNav when flying FSX so I've been using FS9 last few months. I really should get back on X sometime.. I don't have the Wilco 737 sorry dude, so no idea about repaints for it..

QUOTE (victor_alpha_charlie @ Jul 26 2008, 10:03 AM) Make sure I'm in your will for your computer should anything happen to you /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> Your shots with FEX really show what is possible with FSX, although for a bit of added realism, try the Vistaliners 737-300 with one of Dan Mitchell's many fantastic NZ repaints. The specification of the computer is not that fantastic, 2.2Ghz dual core, Nvidvia 8600GT graphics card, 4GB RAM. The main thing is that I have been trying out lots of tweaks and also LOTS of...

Very nice Charl /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> This is one I've decided not to get, but I can play with it at work, so no loss there. I still enjoy seeing such atmospheric shots as these though!

Well, I've updated my NZ scenery somewhat, and gotten a SRTM set for the islands. What do y'all think? /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Auckland: Wellington and surrounding area (this is a photoreal set, that IMHO although it looks good from up high where I normally fly, looks like cr@p down low): Christchurch: Southern Alps:

QUOTE (Charl @ Jul 19 2008, 09:48 AM) I was drenched in sweat, and had forearm muscle cramps. Haven't had so much fun since I last fell off a bike at speed. Truly amazing hobby , ... months went past ? people started asking , were the heck is 'Charl' ... eventully emergency units and police break in the door at your residents only to find you on the pc - flightsim no dout ... Dr Hibbet (hahahahah) after removing the cobwebs , a checkout , Doc Gasped .. oh my god he died of stress landing at Kai Tak /ohmy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :o border= 0 alt= ohmy.gif />

I was waiting for the Ultimate Flight Environment to come out, but got tired of waiting for it, so purchased FEX instead. Sorry to say that I have no experience of Active Sky but for now, FEX will suit me fine. Regarding the quality of the photoreal scenery and clouds, it is not my work!!! I can only thank RealNZ and FEX for it, all I do is install them and use them!!! I will report back when I have got to grips with the full possiblities of FEX, with a few more screenshots. smooth landings.

Yep it was on 3 'News' during their report on Air Nelson's strikes. They just mentioned that Air NSN was covering the strikes by using federation pilots, other Air NZ aircraft eg a 737 AKL-PMR and by using charter airlines such as VIncent Aviation where possible. My mum asked me who Vincent was and I had to mention that I knew a guy... /winkyy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= ;) border= 0 alt= winkyy.gif /> One News probably did something similar as well. I never hand fly the 737, I use the wilco one so I just hand fly the take off and climb to 3000-4000 ft then put the AP on untill about 3000-4000 ft and hand fly the approach and landing, even in thick fog I set up the ILS but never use app mode to pull me in, theres something realy rewarding about hand flying the ILS and landing on target in fog right to minimums.

The C206 is my favorite model from Carenado too- turns what would otherwise be a bland flight over some bush scenery into a great experience if you like to fly from inside the VC. Did you know you can click on the right hand front passenger seat inside the cargo variant, and the interior switches from an all seat configuration to boxes and parcels! Probably my favorite out of the three included models to fly too, lots of fun hooning around the Canadian mountains in winter, the default FS9 mesh is pretty good there /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt=...

I just installed. High preformance payware jets- NO NO for me /sad.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :( border= 0 alt= sad.gif /> I was getting 5-10FPS on landing with LD 767 and PMDG 747. GA Aircraft, and non high preformance payware= YES /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> 17-25FPS Take that into account when your purchasing guys, btw, this is with the high preformance install.
