QUOTE (Charl @ Aug 29 2008, 10:14 AM) I'd also be pretty happy with those atmospherics - No. 2 one can look at for quite a while...clouds in No 1 get a mark of 96% /wink.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :wink2: border= 0 alt= wink.gif /> I agree, number 2 is pretty wicked /thumbup1.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= thumbup1.gif /> They all look cool though. Nice shots happytraveller.

I will climb a bit and have a look for the buildings at the top of the Jungfrau. Notice the tile effect of the snow in screenshot 2 (bottom left hand side), you notice this a fair bit flying around with this package. I was expecting a bit better from a 16GB/ NZ $269 package. smooth landings

A few more screenshots... the first few are of the WoP FW190 A4 in a winter camo scheme, then the ultimate incarnation of the FW family, the WoP Ta152H cruising it way through FL260 over the Hauraki Gulf. The plan was for a cruise down the coast from Pauanui to Tauranga at FL480, but we the power died for a few seconds here and so did the computer /angry.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= angry.gif />

I've tried this with FS2004 (TileProxy version 6 - they say this is the stable version for fs2004). My opinion is that the tweaking/waiting for 10 minutes load time isn't worth it (I ONLY TALK ABOUT FS2004!!!). The resolution is not that spectacular and as a bug, you have some black tiles on the scenery. No AGN which makes it look funny. The other problem is the clouds that have fallen off the sky, lie on the ground (as there were there on the satelite image) This last issue depends on what source you use for the images. Still, I think it's better to install a few...

Ok - having tried the technique for the previous two sets of screenies and substituting the Warbirds for modern combat jets, I can tell you that it is a much more challenging affair..............the distance and amount of space that modern jets can cover in a short amount of time is amazing. In just a few short seconds you can go from having the bogey firmly in your sight to having 4 or 5 miles of separation between you..... That said, here are the results - a BAe Hawk vs. Scaled Composites ARES: Hawk ARES Fights On! No real winner in that engagement.........I was never able to close...

Alphasim's Spitfire is now freeware indeed /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> She flies nicely, lots of power and maneuverability in any situation, a very nice VC - which lends itself quite well to flying from the VC, and a few paint schemes. The only tricky part about flying her is that she is a tad bit touchy on the pitch trim.

QUOTE (waka172rg @ Aug 19 2008, 08:07 PM) does that work in fsx?? Um /unsure.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= unsure.gif /> I wouldn't have a clue. I think the best thing to do would be to try it. I don't have FSX and so I can't test it but you might want a to give it a go/ Otherwise I think there would probably be others out there. Maybe just try searching google for "FS X Skydiver Effects" or something. Good Luck /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

QUOTE Ah but the showstopper in X-Plane is actually the flight dynamics... You are quite right! Unfortunately for me XP9 bought my PC to its knees and in the PowerPoint slideshow that resulted I could not appreciate the hyper-accurate flight modelling at all. Its plane-maker & airfoil-maker will surely help people understand basic aerodynamics. Lets hope FS11 improved on the MS dynamics. **Yikes I was messing about in my PhotoBucket album moving stuff around and it trashed all the links to the pics** Will repost! /Bucktooth.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= >buck<...

QUOTE (Albatross @ Aug 16 2008, 09:09 AM) haha how you can you be flying her there in NZ when I'm flying her right now in northern India? /laugh.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= laugh.gif /> j/k she's a great plane, one of the best, and one of my favourites. Nice shots, I love the...
