Window shopping ,yes my thoughts exactly ,ive been flying the sim for years now and i do rather like having a look around at where ive just flown into , the thought of looking beyond the glass and getting some depth is pretty cool ,i really dont like the glitter glass on spec maps like all the designers seem to be doing and find that it is one of the big causes of frame hits in a scenery ,that and bump maps that seem unnecessary in a airport ,more for the rivets on planes in my opinion .. even though i made this i still get the wow factor when cruzing on up to the terminal.. Ha ha a Mikey...

QUOTE (dbcunnz @ Apr 29 2010, 02:53 PM) Well done Rob. Looks almost the same as it did back in the mid 1960s before roading was put in. I worked for the Johnson family's launch service barging stock, farm provisions all around the sounds and D'urville Island also doing fishing parties the odd mail run and water taxi work out of Havelock. Doug Thanks, guys, but I do need to remind everyone that this is 99% Tim's work, 1% mine. I do get carried away a bit,I know, but I don't want to give the impression that I'm trying to take the credit for this.

I forget this is a Military Trainer ! .. the cockpit is so , appears to be civilian compared to the other trainer i prefer and that,s the Skysim Hawk . This is still fun to play with and good for multiplays since lotta to NZ flightsim people brought it . May see you in a weekend some time Happy /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif />

From the 70 s when watching LC-130 s heading out to the Ice , they had different sound compared to the later variants , it may have been the running the engines up during taxi as they slowly trundled past , but since , well recent ear to the ground so to speak appear to be lessor the original thumping roar , maybe Deane Baunton could shed some light , maybe prop change in shape , that would do it . I love the flightsim CS-130 , another that gets many hours use here , Great Screens Happy /cool.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= B-) border= 0 alt= cool.gif />

Ian, Thanks for this, great tribute. Often the efforts of New Zealanders in Bomber Command are overlooked. And given that 75 Sqn was the only squadron engaged from the outbreak of the war till the end, thats surprising.

QUOTE (ScottyB @ Apr 21 2010, 03:05 PM) Again Toprob, what scenery is this? I have been out of the simming area for a few months and I think I have missed something BIG. Cheers. Some details in this previous thread. Lake Kaniere was one of the original Godzone magazine areas, originally for FS2002 -- thinking back to the time I spent placing this by hand, I certainly don't miss the old days:) It's a smallish area (30x40km) using LINZ imagery, plus an aerial of Hokitika which I scrounged from the council.

Second and third photos are great, camera angle and framing are lovely. Perhaps could be improved by reducing the visibility a little to get some atmospheric haze, but still great shots. I must fly around that are as well!! thanks for posting.
