I don't think that it carried a full payload for that flight, it carried the equivalent of a normal load. It was a bit of a marketing gimmick much like Tex Johnson rolling the 707. The Convair 990 was faster on a normal day as was the 727. These flights in Indonesia in often bad to very bad weather have made it clear to me how good we actually have it in Europe in terms of weather. But it is a challenge to fly somewhere here in Indonesia or in other areas with typical, regularly recurring weather conditions that are outside the norm... Marty, no, that's just a mirror. The one that I'm talking about is on the left hand side on the canopy between the seats. I think it was a tank sight that the Brits put on there to identify targets beyond visual range.
