QUOTE (kiwibarguy @ Apr 25 2008, 08:16 PM) I and some other forum members have started flying together. If you are keen (and anyone reading this), keep an eye on the multiplayer space. This is the space to watch. Post that you want to fly, let others know how you feel by where you would like to fly, and sure enough you will be suprised by the response. Look forward to flying with you. I agree with you whole-heartedly, we have a great bunch of guys at this forum, keen to help each other. It seems silly that we never flt the skies together. Why not fly together more often and enjoy...

Timaru, Rotovegas with Tarawera and Dunedin are awesome! The waitakeres can make for some great sunset screenshots also. Found in the above link from Albatross. Edit: nearly forgot Coromandel.

Yeah I got the Eye toy web cam to go with the PC and have the software. The new version means you don't need to have it bypass that PP-joy or whatever, and integrates with FSUPIC. Watching some videos about how someone converted a bike light to a 3 clip tracking devise, so might do that sooner or later. THanks for the info, NIck

I prefer to fly 3D, but I use 2D in certain situations as others have said. For screenshots, on the rare occasion I take them, I would definitely use 3D, but access to instruments and switches etc is sometimes easier in VC. Cheers Anthony

QUOTE (kiwibarguy @ Apr 7 2008, 01:46 PM) Thanks Timmo! You Rock! I'm the lights expert :D Depending on what plane you're in, I'll go with a 737 Nav lights- pretty much all the time, even at the gate. Anti collision- before engine start to after shutdown. Taxi lights- kinda like car headlights, but also used with landing lights on takeoff/landing White strobes- Turned on when entering a runway, not turned off until after you've left it Landing lights- Used for takeoff up to 10,000ft, switched on again as you descend through 10,000ft. Don't use on...

Its probably time for a new joystick id say- Older/simple joysticks get a lot of dust etc in the pots which makes the inputs very erratic. My old Thrustmaster (sounds like an adult film actor) used to be almost impossible to caliberate...move it a fraction to the left and the input would jerk over to full left, move it full left and it would only go half way on the left axis. Id highly recommend a MS SideWinder Precision pro 2- You can get them off trademe second hand for $30-40

While this is probably an old thread and the OP just listed software as options for the cash. I'd spend money on a decent yoke and pedals, followed with Track IR. Then software. Which ones you want would depend on where you fly and whether heavies or civil, but most you have listed 767 so I guess it heavies. So I wonder whether you'd benefit from visual scenery if flying heavies. These are better with yokes I think, (Airbus could get away with joysticks I suppose) Like one of the other posters I have bought Wilco 737 PIC. Ether

QUOTE (ronindanbo @ Mar 17 2008, 01:29 PM) yes that is what my research has found as well, I am assuming SeanG is only using FSX Nope, still using FS9. And, although I have FSUIPC I setup the throttles directly in FS9's axis assignment menu. For reverse thrust I used the Saitek software to map the "switch" when you pull the levers back beyond the detent to F2 (and repeat). I can take some screenshots of how it is setup if that helps?
