Yeah...it's also the only 172 in that fleet. The others are 152's. I appreciate there is a bit of a scarcity of aircraft to paint in FSX, so anything sorta goes... But there is the excellent 150 model by Francois-Denis Guidée and Yves Franckart (available at ) I believe the model works fine in FSX. Can't remember if I fixed the tail emblem, but anyone can PM me if deeply disturbed by it... Yip you will be pretty much wasting your time putting more time and money into this machine. Get a new motherboard and CPU and pair that with the ATI HD4850 which is the best bang for buck card out there at the moment. You mention not upgrading for a while anyway, I would wait until closer to the time for asking for advice as the technology scene changes very quickly. It's definitely possible to get a decent computer for flight simulator for $1500 or less, no monitor but including mouse, keyboard, OS, etc.

Strange bidding last time Derek , $25NZ would have been reasonable for a 2 year old program , still require cost of post , think someone was playing last time , made the final bid and did not take it ? i'll give it another go see what happens . Edit : already past 26 dollar , may just see what happens this time .

QUOTE (Cbris @ Aug 10 2008, 09:20 PM) Don't bother! It's little better than a ported FS9 plane, the paintkit has some serious mismaps that I reported 2 years ago (along with other bugs) and still haven't been fixed. It's file management is a flop - over 700MB disc space - not one sensible use of the fallback. The various model bits use different textures depending on mil or civ mdl files. eats FPS. The model has been approved by the DeHavilland society??? Oh yes?? So they are blind and didn't spot that the model has only 9 wing ribs indicated and the real one...

QUOTE (RPN @ Aug 10 2008, 10:29 AM) Have you tried "System restore". That will do the trick providing you have your drive monitored and have a system restore date prior to your problem. This has got me out of all sorts of problems in the past. Richard I have system restore turned off. /sad.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :( border= 0 alt= sad.gif /> Thanks QUOTE (Daniel @ Aug 10 2008, 08:03 AM) How long was it since you last did a back up? If you deleted that then you could start a new one and put a single entry with all your old hours in. Thanks daniel,...

QUOTE (greaneyr @ Aug 12 2008, 07:56 AM) FS9's default RNAV approaches are only LNAV (lateral navigation) and (correct me at any time if I'm wrong here) only allow straight segments on final approach. The Queenstown approaches you're thinking of (i imagine) feature vertical guidance as well as curved approach paths, so need 3rd party addons if you want to model them in FS9. I'm not sure about FSX Generally speaking yes only straight legs. The FS9 GPS would not really be up to the task and as you mentioned it has no vertical path guidance. There is however the Alfa and...

For anyone considering purchasing the Wilco / feelThere Tower Simulator mentioned in one of the posts above......... in one word DON'T! I did and certainly wish I had saved my hard earned cash! I won't go into the full details as the link below echoes all of my sentiments. In short, once you look past the glossy download site and nice graphics, you will quickly come to realise this is nothing more than a game - and a cheap, nasty, poorly coded one at that. Aircraft taxi way to fast and very jerkily, the flight dynamics are completely unrealistic (Think flat approaches, no...

Just got it before and it is up and running /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> The only thing is the airnz domestic fleet is a bit blurry. Otherwise it is pretty awesome. I am also using some WOAI stuff instead for certain airlines as some of it is better.

There could be some trouble setting up Lawrie's scenery in FSX, and I don't think he supports it - as all his work was done on FS9. Unless Lawrie is feeling very charitable - you could be on your own... /unsure.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= border= 0 alt= unsure.gif /> Alex

Thanks for the feedback guys..Sounds like the whole story seems to be winning out here....for the interest of dail-up guys I will break it up into a couple of threads perhaps...part 1, part 2 etc....Like I said it's still a work in progress...I'm probably about 65% done. I will post a thread later tonight and we will see how we go! /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> Also to answer Deeknow's question...I've never used Flickr or anything similar Cheers Florian
