The Rangitopuni came up and cut off our road! This last happened 20 years ago when some willows fell over in the streambed. Being in L4 lockdown, it didn't really matter... Waitakere dam, stolen without permission from Reddit: Some wag reckoned if he were 20 years younger, and not locked down, he'd be surfing the tailwater!

:D Memories, memories...about 32 years ago I took darling daughter to a QANTAS Open Day at Mascot - purely educational of course - and when we visited the Training Display, there were two simulators, really rocking it and earning their keep, even on the holiday. I asked the guide how much it would cost me to have a play in one for an hour or so. He said about $8- or $900. At which DD said firmly "NO, Dad" and led me away :(

FS2020 has some definite frustrations but overall if your system can run it I'd say definitely go for it. It can be frustrating at times and it does still have some unresolved problems that have been around since launch, but since a couple of patches early this year that largely solved the early issues with very questionable controls/flight modelling, the level of immersion I've experienced in it is far beyond what I've had in any other sim so far, and Asobo still seem very committed to continuing to support and improve it far into the future, which is very encouraging. Admittedly, I will...

Because it doesn't have the twist throttle. Every 300 add-on for a Sim has a governor though. I've got a little bit of time in the 300. It's a bit of a fun machine

Just downloaded it again... four days. No improvement really. 22 to 25fps around Motueka in the 152 but with some quite bad stutters at times. Probably usable though. Default Wellington in the Kingair, 14 to 17fps and completely unusable. Played with the settings a bit and even dragging them down to the minimum, still ran like poo. My CPU is the issue but it's a laptop so I don't think I can change it and when I'm getting a beautiful fluid 40fps on XP and could probably run VR on Aerofly, it's not worth me worrying about it. I may get an XBox further down the road but we'll see.

I have not changed any of my Bell 47 liveries yet because despite at least three updates, Flyinside have not yet managed to improve the modelling and texture mapping. I am in close comms with them, but they are still having problems with the texture mapping and still have too many double mappings (i.e. parts mapped on two different textures so you don't know which one is actually on the helicopter and you thus have to paint them twice...) The B47 is still my current favourite flyer though, but simply just not fully up to scratch yet. The are promising changes. We shall see.

mighty ape have them in stock, and $70 off the yoke at the moment, the throttle arrived today and the yoke tomorrow (separate orders) Sounds promising - many thanks  well it was, but NZ Post managed to deliver a saturday delivery on tuesday, and a next day delivery due tuesday hopefully today (thursday) seems since the new brand has come in they have forgotten how to route parcels :P I will put up my thoughts once i have got them both setup and in use.

When I get into my new home and *if* I can convince the wife, I'm hoping to get back into sim, but if my PC can handle it I'd like to consider VR this time.

I scrolled down to the reviewer's comp spec, quite a grunty machine. I am soo tempted to load up all those resource-heavy sceneries from FS9 one last time, and see them as the creator might have intended!

Well done Aharon ...looking forward to some exciting screenshots. Thanks I am still testing the planes. I am surprised that Carvair does not have loading bay in front of the operable front nose cargo door!! Regards, Aharon
