QUOTE (s0cks @ May 17 2010, 12:25 PM) I mean in FSX! Although would be fun to do it in RL, don't think I'm quite ready /tongue.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :P border= 0 alt= tongue.gif /> Go for it!!! There's nothing quite as satisfying as using your skill and the elements to sustain flight and denying messrs Shell/Mobil/BP et al a few shekels in the proicess /biggrin.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :D border= 0 alt= biggrin.gif /> Yes, Omarama would be the place of choice but just go along to your nearest club and you will be assured of...

Good ole Jurgis doing in inverted! So much potential for disaster with the four shop formation through there though! I guess whoever governs the airspace above China is a little slacker with safety rules than the rest of the Western world.

That little problem with the view is because essentially the sim view is like a widescreen monitor. It feels weird no matter what side you sit. The centre of the screen is 'straight' ahead. But, you are sitting a couple of feet to the left of centre. So it feels a bit weird first time. Driving a car you sit right of centre, yet you look straight ahead, this is what we are used to. That doesn't apply in the sim due to it's design, but you fly your home computer with the view straight in front of you.. The computer guys fixed that however in later updates by using software to...

QUOTE (madaz @ Aug 28 2010, 10:27 AM) TrackiR5 on one monitor wouldnt really be using it to its full potential Might not be using it to it's full potential, but man oh man it is still a huge (as in massively gargantuan) improvement over not having TrackIr even with one monitor. I doubt FSX would of kept my interest without TrackIr.

I have been on a couple off full motion flight simulators , one even being the old NAC/ANZ B/W Reda-Vision , early 80s , very impressed I don,t understand why people would not go out and use or even try out the FE sim , we appear to have many online mention wanting a tinker .. how many but a few ?

From what I have understood - the VV is based on the EuroCat which is a very advanced system I have been told. In the SW - you can choose one out of three diferrent radar systems - the Visual Vectoring (VV), the EC and HK sytems which are used in diferrent parts of the world, and have some unique features for each system. However I am sure the principal is the same regardless of the Radar system. What I like the most about this SW - is the NEW CONCEPT - which gives the gamers out there to have a go on a "real world" training system. Enjoy Isaac

I don't really recall why we gave up the Gallery. I think it was a storage issue -- there are plenty of sites out there which specialise in image hosting, so hosting them here in the gallery doesn't make that much sense when storage space is limited. We have the Screenshots and Real World photo forums, which rely on outside image hosting, but this isn't quite the same as browsing an image gallery. I am looking at bringing it back, but I'm not having much luck uploading an image at the moment.

Awesome, thanks for those links Mat! While googling around for pedals & yokes I've come across DIY everything and some really really impressive set-ups. I wouldn't want to tackle a DIY yoke or pedals but I'm game to build switch panels/dials etc. @spongebob206: thanks for the recommendation, and the plane talk. I've got nothing to compare it to, but it's been really fun so far. Good to know it's not just me. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> QUOTE (NZ255 @ Aug 25 2010, 06:43 PM) Might be a mistake but...

Pete there are many ways to skin a cat with regardsto conducting approaches. Most of them have been touched on in posts above but there are some cardinal rules that really help. 3 X the distance is one of them. Multiply the distance to go time 3 to get the height as in mfraser's post. Just make sure that the distance you have is to the threshold or near by or else make an allowance for the difference. ie if the DME is down at the other end of the runway to that in which you are landing on then deduct the runway length from the reading (a 2000m runway is about 1 mile) Another is to help...

I once had the honour of strapping in a chillybin full of frozen blood products to ferry to an army medical outpost in East Timor......... you'd be surprised at some of the things that get ferried around the place on seats!!

Hey welcome back. Great name. Is his middle name Cresco? My personal favourite would be Boeing but Douglas would fit in well. /smile.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :) border= 0 alt= smile.gif /> If you have a girl next will she be Pawnee or Transavia?
