There is definately more detail down low, And the shadowing on the wing looks cool. the BIG question still remains though - will MS recode MS Flight to use the GPU to render textures?????????????????? Otherwise none of us have any hope of running the thing on a PC built this decade. The more they remain silent, the more scepticle i remain.

QUOTE (AdrianPetford @ Feb 17 2011, 12:21 AM) Now that does sound interesting... /ohmy.gif style= vertical-align:middle emoid= :o border= 0 alt= ohmy.gif /> I've never done very much with flightplans other than make edits to existing ones, but I could definitely have a lot of fun with that. I'm also after a Corsair for my hangar as I don't currently have one. I was thinking either the free Alpha Bleu Ciel or the AH or A2A payware ones. Which one is reckoned to be the best? Thanks also for all your hard work putting together NZFSIM. I got some nice repaints from it for FS9...

Yep that did it, I was in too much of a hurry to read the instructions.... I think this is one of those utilities that is too good not to use - the lack of depth perception in turning into a landing has always been a reality let down for me and this goes a long way to curing it.

QUOTE (markll @ Feb 2 2011, 08:58 PM) Actually it's GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE, not WINDOWS LIVE or XBOX LIVE. And no, you don't have to pay to use it. Whatever on earth made you think that you do? Windows Live is a pretty generic name for Microsoft's push towards cloud computing -- I use Windows Live for email and video processing, for example, and through it I access Games for Windows Live. So many of us consider Games to be a part of Windows Live. And some people do think that ultimately Live will be a multi-tiered service, with the top tier being a paid subscription. So...

I digitised the boundaries (which, to my knowledge aren't liable to copyright....just like digitising a road isn't) and these can be seen on the NZFF scenery map (see the pinned topics in the scenery forum)- Unfortunately, both the scenery areas and the map haven't been updated since I did them in about 2009 so some small changes to the boundaries will need to be made. For VLC I've spent a bit of time putting together a 3D mashup of data using the Google Earth browser plugin to display VLC images compared to the same position in Google earth- For the Scenery/Airspace NZFF map,...

QUOTE (AndrewJamez @ Jan 26 2011, 09:42 PM) hi guy's please forgive my lack of knoledge on these matter's but as the sids and stars charts are updated wouldnt that mean that the standard microsoft FSX database is very old and outdated or is there a way of updating them and how? No practical way of updating them. Some aircraft including PMDG use a different system for SIDs and STARs which is easily updatable. If you part 125 or 121 aircraft there is usually a 3rd party version of the aircraft which will allow an updatable navigation database to be used. Please correct me if Im...

it wasn't a very spaced out landing and i guess he just wanted to get on the ground, because at this point you couldn't even see the other side of the airport (well that's what i saw) no time for a go around either

QUOTE (ZK-DWF @ Jan 19 2011, 12:20 PM) probably on the fact that the FS series has been one of their best sellers over 25 years, and has a bit of a cult following. Too true - biggest selling MS game/sim title and they spend the least amount of advertising on it. Thats why I could never fathom after all that time, why they would want to drop it? Made absolutely no sense at all.

QUOTE (Ian Warren @ Jan 18 2011, 12:19 PM) Exactly what i did was a scan large map , giving you headings from the airport to a beacon , tune it in on your radios ADF , this is printed in A4 format and i simply place into a ClearFoler so when flying you just turn the page . Included are other references . I created a short text file (which prints out to one page) with all my common NZ destinations in it - listing runways, ILS/NDB frequencies etc. I refer to it often!!
