Well that is a big relief. It was hopeless in P3D (well for online flying anyway).

Although real world there is no reason that it cannot be applied to the flight simulation world (Especially MSFS with its accurate scenery depiction). Got the same email, downloaded and read. Actually, I 'real-plan' all my sim flights like this when I am practicing local flights prior to do them IRL. I use a real E6B flight computer too! (I want to buy a metal one - my card one has too much 'play' in it) I just purchased maps for the area (Christchurch, Canterbury and surrounds), and a new aviation scale ruler (since I seem to have lost my last one) and I go through this same process, though...

I've been avoiding NZ scenery upgrades for the same reason - the scenery packs they've released for other parts of the world so far have been pretty solid.

I've also seen a screenshot with the NZ Warbirds' DHC Beaver in the background. Now I know next to nothing about the anime except the name Spike Spiegel but a Beaver is about the last thing I expected to see in the live-action adaptation! My wife and I watched the the preview too - she wasn't keen but I was really drawn into it.

I'd downloaded this a while ago, but only got around to installing it today. Seems like a process, but the steps are made simple in the linked video. Very nice to see my NZCH with realistic traffic, I've missed that in MSFS compared to P3D with Orbx AI. Just one issue -- with default traffic, I normally don't get the jetways connecting at the start of a flight, so I need to toggle the AI settings (change setting-apply-change back-apply) and then when I return to the sim the gates connect. Because of the way the AIG traffic is injected, this doesn't seem possible now. Some of my airports...

The Rangitopuni came up and cut off our road! This last happened 20 years ago when some willows fell over in the streambed. Being in L4 lockdown, it didn't really matter... Waitakere dam, stolen without permission from Reddit: Some wag reckoned if he were 20 years younger, and not locked down, he'd be surfing the tailwater!

:D Memories, memories...about 32 years ago I took darling daughter to a QANTAS Open Day at Mascot - purely educational of course - and when we visited the Training Display, there were two simulators, really rocking it and earning their keep, even on the holiday. I asked the guide how much it would cost me to have a play in one for an hour or so. He said about $8- or $900. At which DD said firmly "NO, Dad" and led me away :(

FS2020 has some definite frustrations but overall if your system can run it I'd say definitely go for it. It can be frustrating at times and it does still have some unresolved problems that have been around since launch, but since a couple of patches early this year that largely solved the early issues with very questionable controls/flight modelling, the level of immersion I've experienced in it is far beyond what I've had in any other sim so far, and Asobo still seem very committed to continuing to support and improve it far into the future, which is very encouraging. Admittedly, I will...

Because it doesn't have the twist throttle. Every 300 add-on for a Sim has a governor though. I've got a little bit of time in the 300. It's a bit of a fun machine
