Auckland Airport Scenery Realeased

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby zk2704 » Sat Jun 28, 2014 1:42 pm

Uploaded to Flightsim.com file library and is going to be available for download soon.

NZAA, Auckland Int'l Airport 2014 scenery (Originally Ray Smith's NZAA, but with a lot of tweaking applied)

Note that this scenery is scanned for viruses by AVAST and is reported 'clean' and is copyrighted.

Tweaks applied

* New Cat III ILS for 05R/23L

* Enhanced runway lighting and runway markings to match real-life runway images.

* Enhanced parking spaces to allow aircraft to park at the right place (ANZD parking code spotted when you use AFX or ADEX means 'Air New Zealand Domestic' so go into the aircraft.cfg of the specific aircraft you want to park there and change their atc parking code to ANZD)

* Removed the static vehicles in Ray Smith's original scenery to make this newer scenery more FPS friendly.

* No need for the objects BGL as the objects are imported into the main BGL.

* Supports VLC and ORBX NZNI

This is the scenery which you see on some of my shots in the monthly Screenshot Comps.

A Few Pictures

Very nice Zain.
Any idea if this will work in P3D2.2? It would have to be with default scenery as ORBIX NZNI is not yet configured for 2.2. Not sure about VLC.

Thanks cowpatz, I am not sure if it will work with P3D v2.2 as I don't have P3D. try it out yourself, reply if it works or not.

I am unable to find this on FlightSim.com using any search method (10am June 30).
I'm guessing maybe copyright issues to be resolved?

I'd would be very careful here- where your stepping , last thing you want is to get nailed using others work and putting your name to it !

Does anyone know if Ray Smith's NZAA is the one used as the default in P3D? It looks very similar only with the old runway markings etc.

Bad news, it got removed from the file library despite copyright issues. So it will no longer be available and will upload work of my own in the future so it won't get deleted.

I would not want to post a scenery or hype it up if the work dose not belong to yourself, ... Flightsim.com is very understanding site and has a reputed library system following a set of rules for almost twenty years, first of all respect the authors and respect the site !

Yep,..pretty simple really..don't take someone else's work,..alter it a bit then say you made it ..and DEFINITELY don't slap a silly copyright on it ,..its an afcad file not a rendered and modelled airport,..afcad's a freely accessible and can be altered freely..just so long as you credit the relevant original author's..had you done that it wouldn't have happened. Lesson learnt .

Try and seek the original developer and see if you can get his consent to load as an improved AFCAD.

" so long as you credit the relevant original author's" .... yes indeed , when i was doing those "stumpy" pics , i waited until i heard from the pictures owner , and they were all good , some didnt wnat a credit ... but you at least ask.
Even got the nod from Gavin to "stump" a couple of his shots .

Looking forward to YOUR work Zain .

If you are going to re-do it then just a couple of things i noticed in a quick look.
There are new taxiways Lima and Mike that appear to be missing, we don't have the full CatIII approach lighting on the 05R end only on 23L, and we don't have the blue edge lights on the taxiways. The only blue lights are around the grass corner of Charlie 5 and there may still be one or two left over around D8 somewhere apart from that the taxiways are centerline green only.
Cheers
