Mount Beauty Airport YMBT) - Shellharbour Airport (YSHL)

Some of you will know more about the route and the area around take-off and landing than I do, who at least virtually distance themselves from Germany and don't want to watch the news anymore. At least it got warmer again and the heating costs are going down.
I'm talking about my Christmas present that you made yourself and that's quite an unusual thing. Yes, it's a micro-jet and as a German Flieger-Magazine wrote back when it came out, it's the slowest, cheapest and ugliest thing you can buy as a private jet. In the meantime we all know that the author of this article did not understand for whom this aircraft was designed and what its purpose is. Cirrus SF50 G2 Visionjet. Reviews have compared its performance to high-performance single-turboprop aircraft like the Pilatus PC 12, Piper Meridian, or as a replacement for the t like the smaller versions of the King Air and twin-engine piston such as the Piper Seneca V. it is now one of the best-selling aircraft in its class and has ranked several times No. 1 in its class, since 2018. In 2018, the Vision Jet was awarded the Collier Trophy for the "greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America" during the preceding year, being the first certified single-engine civilian jet. So what do you get for your money? It has only one engine from Williams, a parachute rescue system for the whole plane like the SR 20 and SR 22. The most radical thing about the little thing is software from Garmin that even a passenger can trigger if the pilot fails and the plane flies automatically to the nearest airport with a long enough track flies, automatically lands and brakes. As far as I know, there have been three such incidents. The machine is equipped with the Garmin G3000. Compared to the working version in MSFS, this model has more features here, and I like it quite a lot. Incidentally, the original can be flown by one pilot with type approval in the USA, but not in the EU.

I'm not familiar with the area, but I love the screens and the aircraft .....what a great toy that would be.
"if the pilot fails and the plane flies automatically to the nearest airport with a long enough track flies, automatically lands and brakes' is amazing.

We had a tragic accident here in September. The plane was an old Cessna 551The French German and Danish Air Force escorted the pilotless jet. Nothing could be seen in the cockpit. When the fuel ran out, the plane fell into the Baltic Sea 80 km north of Liepaja. Citation II. The pilot was very experienced and 72 years old. The plane came from Jerez de la Frontera and was supposed to land in Cologne. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot reported a drop in pressure in the cabin and did not report again. Since this plane has neither a flight recorder nor a voice recorder, the plane is 60 meters below and the Latvian government has no money, it will never be possible to say with certainty what exactly happened. The question arises as to whether the pilot would have been able to initiate a descent in an airplane like this and start the emergency program and thus save everyone who was in the machine. We don't know, but one can say that if he was still able to report it, he might still have made it. There have already been a number of such accidents, and the fact that 3 such incidents have already proven that this system works speaks for the Visionjet. The fact that the software is said to cost around $173,000 and is installed as standard, i.e. not optional, makes the small Cirrus Visionjet a winner for me.
