Today's Sunday trip from Abergavenny back to Hereford on a nice warm day. A bit cloudy, but warm...I like "Warm"!.... ....!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvHCt4uH68o

Lapel Microphone located in my open-face helmet, and enclosed in my new; "Hairy" wind-shield to reduce the wind noise.

Partly successful, but I am still cursed with the annoying transmission gear whine from inside my clutch cover!

Far too much overall noise, so no; "Voice" narration. "Text" narration only!

It seems to work fairly well in my editing, and I'm no good at; "talking", anyway!.... ...!

A very enjoyable trip...as always!

Dean , One of the things I was thinking off, the safety side with Paul riding along in those narrow streets, having the camera to spot the possible silly's on the street , around town always have those mirrors .. Fozz's left hand mirror appears fixed but to add the camera in the case of dumbness by others you catch them out .. so extra security in a sense.

Nah!.... :( ...!

It still spins round in the wind...anything over 5 MPH...constantly adjusting it on the move!

The ball joint has worked loose with age....(like me, and mine... ....)....so a replacement LH mirror is on the books!

Fantastic mirrors on the Rebel. Excellent rear visibility...when they don't spin round!

Video cameras are fantastic to video record your untimely demise, in the roadside ditch!.... :o ...!

Good to see the Honda Groms, Dean!.... ....

...funny little bikes!.... :D ...!

Today....

Fitted the camera on the handlebar, with the Mic and Mic lead stretching to the rear number plate, in the hope of picking up the exhaust sound instead of wind, transmission noise, and me coughing and sneezing in my helmet!
...(fluffy hair wind-shield on the Mic)... ....!

Video Microphones and Motorbikes rarely go together!.... :( ...!

More experimenting with stuff!... ....!

I've tried Electricians Black Tape, Duct Tape, Glue, Silicon Rubber, String, Prayer, etc....

...nuffink works!.... ...!

26,000+ miles and I need a new, non-spinable, LH Mirror!... :( ....!

Yesterday's long afternoon trip in glorious warm/hot sunshine along some of the Herefordshire highways....

....which includes the attack of the 18-Wheeler, and Three Harley Davidson Riders of the Apocalypse!.... :o ...>>>

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WY6zGnTHVA

A lovely leisurely ride, except when being chased by impatient motorists!.... ...!

Still experimenting with the microphone placement to reduce the wind and annoying transmission noise.

This time I placed the "hairy" Mic in a foam-filled pouch, and placed it in my motorcycle leather jacket pocket...
....(I am attached to the handlebar camera via a long length of wire)...
..the results can be heard, but I will never be able to obtain the satisfying rumble of a pair of Harley mufflers... :( ...!

My 360 degree firing angle, vertical-twin, Honda Rebel engine, just doesn't make it...even on a warm Summer day!!... ...!

The journey was plagued by my left-hand mirror constantly spinning around on its ball-joint which has lost its "friction", so a new pair of OEM mirrors are on order....for safety.

Another fantastic hot day is forecast for today, so another trip is on the books, after breakfast...
...and more stuff for You-Tube!

Yep, jeeze you've got a good eye. They are nicely engineered, they look good I reckon and feel really solid and comfy. I've used them during winter and they are fine for commuting across town on cold and wet days. The only criticism I would have is they are a little bit bulky and if you wear them all day, say at the office, you do know you've been wearing them. When you try them on you can decide about that for yourself.

Well....

...wady-ya-know.... :o ...!

The last couple of days have been fantastic, and the Land of the Angles has been blessed with warm/hot sunshine, and I have been taking advantage of it, with lots of motorbike rides around the countryside on my Trusty Steed!

Yesterdays trip was to the Royal Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, in anticipation of meeting some of my many Children, Grandchildren, and great-Grandchildren who live there!

After sitting out in one of their gardens for hours and hours on end, waiting for them to arrive back home from work, I found out, after I got back home again, that they had all gone away on holiday for a week.

Do you you sometimes feel, (involving family matters), that like Mushrooms, you are kept in the dark and fed on animal waste products?.... :( ....!

Anyhow....

...the ride in the sunshine was very enjoyable, and I switched my camera on at the village of Ruardean, in the Forest, en-route on my journey back home!...>>>

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3tBzRZsvMI

The change in brilliant, late evening sunshine, into deep shadows, was giving my video camera a really hard time trying to keep up with the ever-changing exposure!... :o ....!

I'm still troubled by the annoying transmission gear whine in my Rebel, but a local dealer tells me that many Honda Rebels suffer from the problem...I am just one of the unlucky owners!.... :( ...!

The next job for me, is to remove the exhaust baffles from both of my Silencers/Mufflers, (Your Honour!), in the hope that the exhaust sound will drown out the annoying gear whine sound!

I often wonder if a lavalier (lapel) microphone with "noise cancelling" built-in exists, to reduce/stop unwanted extraneous noise from being recorded!

The "Hairy Stuff" I fitted over my Mic stops most of the wind noise, but there is still lots on unwanted noise entering the Mic.

On other You-Tube videos, all I hear is the sound of the narrator's voice, and the glorious rumble of their 45 degree vee-twin engines.... ....
...how do they manage to do it?.... ...!

There you go Chums, weather permitting, more bike rides in the next few days!

In the meantime, don't forget to visit my You-Tube Channel for lots of Motorcycle rides around the countryside!...>>>

2nd hand 2013 Suzuki Inazuma 250. Went to the local dealer today and sat on it, both feet flat on the ground which is good. This has been my dream bike since I saw it in the flesh. I'll be sure to take photos before my first ride.

Sweet that's good to hear. Yeah I got Bayride to order some for me. They didn't have the size I needed. I'll definitely be getting proper boots for the open road. I plan to ride the Coromandel Loop when I get my restricted.

Had a FAB ride-out today, (August Bank Holiday Monday), in beautiful sunshine!

Met up with one of my biker Sons on his new Triumph Triple, and his wife, (my gorgeous Daughter-in-Law), on her new Yamaha MTO-3 654cc Bike, in the Abergavenny Bus Park, with zillions of other Bikers!

My little "Daisy" (Honda CMX 250C Rebel Cruiser) treated me with big grins, as usual, as she cruised along at sensible speeds along the A465 Trunk Road separating The Kingdom of England from the land of the Welsh (Owain Glendower and his motley crew)!.... :D ....!

A fantastic ride, only obtainable on Motorcycles!.... ...!

I just hope the nice weather keeps up for a while yet!
