Cockpit building

started working on the lower panel labeling this evening

knocking off now as I'm tired and getting super frustrated at the sh1t way this new site deals 'or fails to deal' with inserting images.

tried several sites and ways of uploading to get a decent size but keep ending up with the same small picture.
Bugger it I might just move it all to the Simviation forums and cut the frustration.

anyway for what its worth this is kind of what the progress looks like so far.

I have moved away from the post image brand names , still have files at PB .. postiamge is just as bad or least will follow ... a dedicated FS pic site , happy with that .

Finally completed the present work on the lower panel
took about two weeks eventually but I'm reasonably happy with it although I do still have to
test and see if I can seal it with a spray on coat of clear poly to protect it.

I wasn't actually looking for a further project at the moment but...

sometimes the opportunity presents itself and you just have to run with it.

I managed to "save" the last bit of ZK-LFT, the Lifeflight Air Ambulance metroliner.
As can be seen there is not a lot left of her but it makes the best start on a new simulator project.










My son helped me by towing it home from the airport (slowly) and we got the odd comment from the window washers at the traffic lights.
Lots and lots of work ahead but it will have to be stored in the garage for a while as I struggle to get on
with the Baron.

spent a few hours over the last month or so throwing together a stand for my 'Metroliner Project'.
just some left over building material and some paint.



now I have to get my daughters friends over for some muscle to help lift the
fuselage into the garage and lift it into position.





I have taken the angle grinder to the shell and trimmed it up ready for some work to begin
but for now it's just going to be the installation of some flooring and then used as a storage area while I try to get on with some work on the Baron.

... What about four retractable 'dolly wheels' just to help with jiggling it around .. little screw-jacks adjusted with a spanner

'mum' was pretty okay once she saw it actually - thank goodness.
I did think about wheels for the frame, and may still do so, but I only have about 30mm clearance from the roof trusses as it is so
even getting it into the garage and onto the frame is going to be an 'interesting' job.

Once it is sitting on the frame the plan is to bolt through the fuselage and into the four uprights and one into the long center frame.
This will keep it from moving both fore and aft and also from rolling. 'So the theory goes.'

They had a similar job getting the Andover into the hanger at Wigram, the tail was simply to high even when the aircraft was in its kneeling position, the extra bit to get it through the door on an angle was let the air out of the tires just enough to get it in -30 mm tons of room

Fantastic ZKLFT lives on, she was a nice machine to fly.

any photos of the cockpit of ZK-LFT would be a great help in rebuilding it and I was thinking of putting together a photo board with a brief history of the aircraft on the rear inside wall once it was completed.
