Any NZAA Payware in the works?

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Riddlez » Thu Jul 24, 2014 9:54 pm

Hey everyone, I was just wondering is there any FSX/P3D NZAA payware in the works? I heard that ORBX were doing one but that was a while ago and seems to have stalled now, Is it still going ahead?

No it's not broken, you just have to be logged into their forums.

I'll nudge ya. Hell I'll damn near bust ya skull with a baseball bat if it will help lol But seriously, as much as I would LOVE an NZAA for obvious reasons, I think logically and realistically it probably should wait because NZAA is starting a massive upgrade and won't look the same in a couple of years. Right now, I think just a small patch to add the A380 wing to RealNZ Auckland would suffice to bring it up to current speed...

The second runway, tower and terminal reconfig are years and years away.

Any work by you Che would be better than the default / freeware AFCAD's available. After the quality of your NZNP, I'm sure many here would be happy to pay for it!

Funny how you get to know an airport and you grow to love ... then they change and rebuild it ... and they do that with a couple thousand fellas , when I get leveled out here and on the cruz first will Christchurch ... whoops Wigram first again then ... I do wonder how I go with a good changeable Auckland

If your going to hook into it Che , thumbup1.gif

Sections. smile.gif When you build it, grid it out and use a separate file for each grid then when it changes you can just update the relevant portion. Not sure if that works for scenery but it's a thought

I'm doing a bit of research into it first, but I might just have a crack at making a NZAA.

I tried to upload a freeware high quality NZAA, but sadly it got taken off the file library despite copyright issues. This means a lack of a good quality NZAA to really make my home airport so good in FSX. sad.gif

All you did was tweak someone elses AFCAD file so it wasn't a complete upgrade

UMM ... it was only an AFCAD file .. copyright ! belonged to Ray, rule number 1 dose not past- good quality , Hmm , current would be the ORBX rule the roost to be as close as possible , I could not see yourself even at looking at building models , first requires common sence then getting in there and doing the work.

So have you bothered approaching the copyright holder to see if he will authorise the changes?
I cant believe there isn't a payware NZAA in the works. The main airport in NZ and nothing. Amazing.
As for ORBX they do some little tin pot US airports and even AYPY but not NZAA? Their train set I suppose but why get our hopes up and then scupper them?

Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!
