Postby Adrian Brausch » Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:09 pm

Hi all, I purchased the Area51 Simulations Comanche yesterday and the link they sent me was void,..have been trying to contact them to get a link that works so I can download it but 3 emails later..still nothing. I am concerned because it appears their FB page is down too ?...anyone know if they are still functioning or have I just payed $29US for nothing ?..

Matey, I think this has been across the board on many sites over the last couple months with DDOS attacks, I'm sure your D/load and payment would be safe, BUT you would think they would contact you as a paying customer directly after 3 Emails

Area51 Simulations changed their name to Stargate Studios HK, so you may want to try contacting them through here:

Have you tried to institute a charge-back from your bank?
If you do, and you tell them, it may get you a response.

I only had to do it once years ago when an addon company charged me twice for a product and wouldn't respond to my inquiries. I called my bank and explained the situation and after they attempted to contact the company on my behalf with no response after two days, they credited my account (removed the second charge) and everything was fine.

In this case, assuming you payed with a credit or debit card, I suggest calling your bank and explaining the situation, emphasizing that you did not receive the product you paid for, and have been unsuccessful in trying to get support after # attempts. Now, I'm in the US so this may not apply at all for New Zealand, but it's worth investigating as soon as possible.

That's a win for you Adrien, glad you've got it resolved. Mighty impressive customer service by FS Pilot shop, on behalf of Area 51, when it's really got nothing to do with them at all.

Two thumbs up to them, that is real customer service - at least they haven't forgotten who pays them in the end - their customers thumbup1.gif thumbup1.gif
Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Good on fspilotshop and damn pleased you are sorted, its a pity the lack of response from Area51 after still having the shop open ! real customer service NOT!

Seems that the lack of customer support from Area51/Stargate has escalated.

Several of us at SOH inquired as to the status of the Cobra Service Pack that was announced last December, only to be blocked from their Facebook page after their recent announcement that they were no longer developing FSX products.

Yea man,..I sent Area51 and Stargate several emails each,...got one reply from stargate,..said they were just designers from the now ex area51 and couldnt help me,...so out of frustration I decided to try my luck at one of their main outlets for selling their stuff ..FSPilotshop. They sent me the Comanche as they said "on behalf of" area51...I am tended to believe they sent it to me just out of their own generosity,...area51 will not get anymore money from me.
