Hi Ian that would not show the Horizon stuff on my setup as I've got Aerosoft's London City and airport loaded. More than pleased to showcase that if you want. Not sure how the two product will blend together.

Hi,

i have Horizon VFR 1-3 Generation X Version 3 in use and just purchased the rest, Scotland and Ireland. 50 % is a lot of money... Now I am waiting because shipping from the UK to Germany ... around 3 weeks. This is EU... and with the help of the Royal British snail mail and the also exclusice german DHL snail mail...
biggrin.gif

The problem. It seems, that from earthsimulations.com. You can only download the free treescape 4/5, if you have Horizon VFR installed... Correct?

Well, this is not a big problem. They cost "not a lot of money"...

The question ORBX or Horizon VFR is in my eyes simple. ORBX is no option. Why?

UK 2000 has in 3 UK 2000 VFR 1-3

http://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_se ... rds=VFR+UK

packages around 230 Airports, airfields and airstrips... individually programmed and good enough for me. They are all optimized for use with Horizon VFR. Also in this are the "big Airports"... but if You want a more detailed Heathrow or maybe Cardiff... the Xtreme-series is for You. If You want it a bit smaler... a bit bushflying... look here:

http://secure.simmarket.com/accentsim-p ... 821).phtml

40 airstrips, glider fields and so on in Northern England...

These are around 270 airports, airfields and smaller... If you want to buy all of them from ORBX, if they "build" them for years... rolleyes.gif

25 Euros each = 6750 Euro. Garry Summons work is good enough. I do not need a lot of blades of gras and dancing waitresses.

After we know it with ORBX NZ, the most of the addon airfields and landscapes earlier build need adjustments for use in ORBX. Can Garry make this for 230 airports/airfields... and want he to do this? And FSAddon? Want they modify all of the northern airfields, after ORBX has made a new "Mysti Fjord" and a new "Glacierbay" useless?

Yes, Horizon VFR has some weaknesses. The No 7... that is not available. Nearly no autogen (look at France VFR, they do it better) But all in al I want to have a complete landscape with typical british airports and airfields and not only a handfull of them... for a lot of money.

Aerosoft London VFR and Horizon VFR blend together. I have this combination in use. No difficulties. But... meanwhile Horizon has build London in 3D also. Which is the better? Sorry ... i don´t know.

VFR London X was developed by Horizon, just published by Aerosoft instead of Playsims. As you say it fits in perfectly with the VFR Gen X product. It's superb and highly recommended although it is VERY system heavy. Its coverage area within the city is amazing with virtually every building individually modelled. The only downside of this is the scenery drops off to nothing very visibly at its edges. But it's a great addition to a VFR Gen X set up.

As requested Ian

Departing to East from London City showing the southern end where it drops off 3D models

Heading of about 280 showing the detail of the city, but narrow width

Eastern side of the city heading toward Heathrow

Photo scenery East of Heathrow

Another look at southern boundary at about 4500ft

The Northern Boundary of 3D

Looking back showing the blending

From another angle

Photo-realistic to the horizon

To the west

On the eastern boundary of the 3D modeling looking east, showing the blending

Approach to London City Airport at about 2500 ft, showing detail of the blending

Sorry about the odd sizes my native resolution is 5760 x 1080, so everything is cropped and re-sized

regards Paul
