Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Always loved the look and shape of that helo. Just looks like a bullet with wings. Something you wouldn't want to take on in a fight (the combat variants anyway) smile.gif

Havent got a payware FS helicopter but this might change my mind as Im a big fan of the 500 series. There was a another very nice 500E/N underway by somebody but sadly he passed away.

I hope this lives up to the hype, I really do. One thing that baffles me a bit is that nobody has come close to replicating Dodosims Jetranger from a few years ago. You could have just about used that thing as a training aid. Realistic start up, vortex ring state, LTE. That thing was awesome. All other helicopters since have fallen short for me.

There are probably commercial reasons for that. To beat the Dodo 206 would take a lot of work and a lot of time, and helicopter add-ons are not, unfortunately, anywhere near as popular as fixed wing add-ons from a sales point of view, so I'd imagine to any developer who might be looking to do that with the goal of getting a return on their time and effort... the numbers may not stack up. Just need to find a developer of sufficient talent who wants to do it for the love of doing it I guess smile.gif

The realistic addons, A2A, Dodosim etc are expensive due to the time and effort that goes into them. If this 500 was as good as the B206 then I would gladly pay those sort of prices for it.

Just judging by that hovercontrol forum I reckon there is a market for a payware 500. As long as its of a high quality.

Best example for types with these , well you have GA , but i am very much into Helicopters - rotormotors -eggbeaters .. , its the ups and downs ya get and precision controlled point landings were as with a GA aircraft , they are so simple and if required anyone could fly one ..LAND and TAKEOFF , course the also the GA's are so similar they get boring in the PC world i guess unless you happen to be flight training ... said before , only recent .. as long as your with a person with the PPL and training .. and understand what yourself really to do flying yourself if you have some no .

Helicopter
, Well Nick .. next time in Christchurch , maybe you can give me a quick lesson .. that would be cool , sure i could handle a R22 cool.gif

He amazingly said free/donationware - I'd be quite happy to pay double digits to support the project. The pics posted of the C-model's tailrotor are jawdropping. I need to get a decent PC again. These models look amazing. I hope they are separate as I'd love just the C-model.

One poster there said his only request would be a doors-off version. I like this idea!
