Saitek Yoke and Throttle Quadrant

A place to converse about the general aspects of flight simulation in New Zealand

Postby Kelvinr » Tue Feb 14, 2012 5:52 pm

Hi all,

A few glitches recently with customs clearing my PFC yoke so will be getting it in the next day or two. So, what I have now is my poor Saitek yoke sitting under my desk feeling a little lonely and unused. I have made a modification to the yoke to try to make it, well, just feel better (which I might add does feel much better than default; basically added another couple of springs inside). So, I am now looking to get rid of it. I know I will be taking a loss for it so what I propose is that people make an offer considering your affordability, retail cost, and me opening it up (voiding the warranty). It does work and please don't take my comments I posted in another thread to heart about the Saitek yoke, it really doesn't suit my needs, not to say that it won't suit yours.

So if you are mature and have an offer then don't hesitate to PM me. The yoke and throttle quadrant retails at about $350 and I am not looking to get this price for it so let me know.

Cheers,

Kelvin

Just add that I've met Kelvin - and bought the odd bit of surplus kit off him in the past. Honest, and perfectly realistic about prices. He's basically a simmer/NZFFer ...not a dealer winkyy.gif

Well that price sounds like a steal Ian. Second hand or new? I have been on alot of websites and Mighty Ape seem to be the cheapest but definitely not under $300 for yoke, throttle, and pedals, brand new at least. Nevertheless, I am reasonably expecting a little less than what you pay for yours.

Not necessarily. Have purchased several electronic items - my latest ASUS 26.5 monitor - "refurbished". All have performed perfectly, at a greatly reduced price.

Example off an earlier Bid :

The item was a Saitek yoke only , brand new including the throttle unit is worth $285 , the complete package .. Now , would you spend on the very same item minus the $100 throttle second hand , no history for $265 dollars .. now that don,t figure ?

Nope, since I have found a quality supplier of quality gear i'm phasing out my old stuff (again) and won't be buying any more of the standard stuff. My new precision flight beech yoke is just pure quality and reminds me of my flying IRL.

I was looking at the 737 throttle setup , That i will wait for a job , with the amount off controllers and modules these days you could build altho wont be anything like TGs and others home cockpits but you sure can make it pretty comfortable , only thing you will the mouse for is to keep your your table cat amused .
