For the first time since 2008... The 99% complete Skoda Fabia vRS WRC replica - Have just fitted the hard fought for rear wing, complete with lightweight (read: 3mm thinner) rear screen. Just need to get the replacement front wheel spacers machined down to fit the centre-bore of the alloys on the front, and she'll be 100% original. All part numbers match with the serials noted in the cars logbook at the time they were fitted by the SkodaAuto WRC team prior to the Rally NZ WRC round in 2006.

The flared guards, front kit and rear spoiler are 100% carbon fiber, and aren't available to purchase by Joe Public... Stump up with the cash to buy a 6Y WRC car and SkodaAuto will "give" you this kit.
Next stop is a stage 1 remap, to bring it up to around 170hp and 450nm happy.gif

Very nice! Good luck reversing tongue.gif

I'm still trying to get rid of this Alfa, and wanting one of these . RB2XDET will bolt straight in so I've heard.

Why not get a 90 or 100 series Toyota Mark II/Chaser/Cresta? Their equivalent engines slot right in are better engines to boot.

Well the Alfa is off to its new owner today and my bank account is $2250 better off, not bad considering I bought it for $1000 and spent $1600 on it. I'm about to find out what it's like to be carless again, not good when I start work at 5am dry.gif

Ended up getting something cheaper to run than an RB Nissan so I have more money for other things. Just bought this, flying up to Tauranga tomorrow and driving back.

1997 Prelude VTI-R Manual with 175,000km for $3500. The VTI-R is the top of the range model sold in NZ, with Climate Control/Sunroof etc. It's stock except for the air filter.

Yeah just had cambelt etc plus a full service done so even though I'm not a massive Honda fan it should still be a decent car. The 200hp it's packing helped convince me biggrin.gif

Come on, guys!
Has no one ever told you that all of your steering wheels are mounted to the wrong side? laugh.gif
That looks crazy!

But here are mine:

My first car was a drawn-out-of-service VW Bus of the Berlin Police Department. Quite spacious and rugged. Drove this piece of junk for about four years until the cylinder head blew off on the Autobahn.
Quite a while ago - this pic was taken in December 1989. Yep, that's me there ... those were the days!

I don't own a car now (well, actually wifey runs a Corolla), so this is my current ride:

Suzuki DR800S. One cylinder with 800 ccm. Sounds great!
Bought this Juggernaut 10 years ago, and now we shared 70.000 kilometers...

But when it comes down to railroading, this is my preferred vehicle:

A 1962 built railcar with a VW engine built in 1956. That's 28 hp of sheer madness!

Compare the two guys from the first and the last pic: 20 years gone... laugh.gif

Cheers,
Markus.

That looks bloody nice! The Lude I've got didn't turn out to be in the best shape body wise, quite a few scratches and small pin dents, plus I've found out the cambelt needs doing soon. sad.gif On the plus side I've found out it's actually a Super Handling model which sold for about an extra $6k in New Zealand and includes Honda's special ATTS non-LSD electronic diff. Haven't experienced ANY understeer yet! Probably helped by the fact that it's also been lowered on Tein suspension whch wont've been cheap. All that needs doing is cambelt+ two shocks at some point then I can concentrate on bodywork + sounds...

My cars for the past 10 years have been company ones. Used to have a Mazda 6 GLX Sportshatch (post 11 in this topic in 2008), currently I have a Mazda SP23, lease runs out this month so next week I will have a new Mazda 6 .. standard config (they have decided now we can't pay extra to ugrade the spec grrrr) but least it's new and free smile.gif

My turn. We're still plodding along with a standard Toyota Corona, 1992, 2 litre, 5-door hatch. She's just gone over 301,000Kms, the head gasket is leaking, and it's time for a new engine! We looked at replacing her with a 2nd-hand vehicle, but figured that getting anything more than 5 year's old was a waste of time / money - and I'm fussy: car must be A1-primo or nothing (and I've found that many people's "mint condition" = my "barely passable condition"!). So, we were looking at either $8k or so for a 2005 something-or-other, or $2.5k on the old girl. So I figured, we spend the $2.5k, keep her going for another 4 years, that equals $625 per year and we don't wind up buying some else's problems. Heck, we might even get another 5 years! The car goes in for "surgery" next Wednesday (getting the cam belt, water pump, CV boots & rear brake pads done at the same time in the price), so it will be interesting to see if she has a new "personality" next Saturday... ohmy.gif
