For me it's a matter of perspective. I have flown light aircraft and found that I had a much better sense of where I physically was in relation to the airfield than I do in the
simulation. Which reminds me, can anyone tell me how to speed up the "swivel" effect in 3D, I haven't re-adjusted this since a major rebuild a while ago ?

or wherever you put your FS cfg file
Search for
PAN_RATE=400
Bigger numbers=faster pan rate
Not sure where the equivalent FSX might be.
