Rushing off to look up "Hound Dog" in Wiki, got an Elvis song, dang.
But second try produced:
The Hound Dog's fuel tanks, interestingly, could be topped up from the B-52's own fuel supply, and during takeoff its engines could be used as auxiliary booster engines for the bomber. The missile's inertial navigation system (INS) could be used as a backup system for determining the aircraft's position after the initial calibration and "leveling" which took a minimum of 90 minutes.

It is indeed.

Lots of fun to fly isn't it? Although I've noticed a requires a lot of management on approach, very easy to come in too fast or slow, and the sink rate can get out of hand very quickly.

Righto, here we go. One of the coolest aeroplanes ever built. The Hustler! Sorry there are a lot of photos here. Just didnt feel I could do justice to the aircraft otherwise.

Fairly space age cockpit for the time.

Early jets produce as much smoke as power!

Release the brakes, burners lit and away

Rotate

Gear up and climbing away easily

Back to nap of the earth

Quite nose high landing attitude. She is quite a handfull at low speed and with the gear down requires quite a lot of power to keep going.

Chute popped.

Yah y'have to remember the engine was an axial flow reverse-engineered RR Nene.

Clearly the Chill was only felt in Britain a little later than elsewhere... penny may have dropped when Rolls didn't manage to recover any royalties for use of said design.
Edit: I just noticed I had the wrong MiG in my earlier shots.
The Bear Studios one is the Business, and there's even an East German one of the Midget 2 -seater (Middle).
Other 2 are N Koreans.

For me the MiG 15 to MiG 29 are to most significant aircraft of the cold war. I am German, but from the former east and was born in the middle of the cold war, in 1964. As a little child I saw a MiG 15UTI-doubleseater as my first experience with military aircraft. It was in use in the GDR up to the Ã‚Â´70s. It was one of the most produced military aircraft after WWII and the mainstay of Fighters of the Warshaw Pact and many other counties for decades...

After the revolution from 1989 we heard first about that the National Peoples Army has used the MiG 29 - only a small batch of 24 aircraft. The mainstay of aircraft was from 1964-1990 the MiG 21 in different variations from the MiG 21F-13 to the MiG 21bis/SAU and it was my dream as a child to fly one. But I have difficulties with my eyes and so a military career was unthinkable. Now I am glad, that I have another profession... after 1990 most of the pilots of the former east german Air Force lost everything. The privlegue to fly, to be an officer, the licences, everything... many of them are going abroad.
