August Screenshot Competition

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Postby ardypilot » Sat Aug 05, 2006 1:31 pm

Here is our fourth monthly Screenshot Competition, which is free to enter for all the members of NZFF.

Congratulations to last month's winner Albatross

The rules are as follows:

1) The screenshot must be from FS2004, and the position of the shot must be somewhere over New Zealand territory.

2) The image size must be as close as possible to 984 pixels wide- read the uploading screenshot guide to find out how to re-size your shot.

3) Images can be submitted from August 5th 2006 to August 31st 2006, with only one entry per member. You can change your submission if you want, just delete the old one and replace it with a new one.

4) On August 31st, a poll will open and run for a few days to decide who has the best image, then the winner will have a cropped version of there image appear in the NZFF banner!

5) Editing is allowed, if you know how to do it. The more stunning your shots look the better!

6) This month we request that each screenshot entered has a 'winter' theme- how you go about displaying that is up to you...

:D Once again, let the games begin!

Oh by the way Trolly has personally OK'd the image to be above the suggested size of 984 pixels wide.

Apologies for the lack of a "winter" feel, but I did fly this today with real weather! So it sort of counts....I'll try and get a wintery pic before the deadline.

EDIT: Okay, obviously I need to find a way to resize the pic, as Photobucket are resizing it to this silly size. Damn. I only have MS Paint - anyone have some tips?

Did you save it as a jpeg? Save it as a jpeg. Otherwise, make sure your screenshot is not too huge a resolution, that could make the size go up.

It comes with Peter Lohr's Mt Cook scenery, so you just have to hang around a bit 'til it arrives.
(But there is a Sikorsky S-76 coming this way, soon, in the GNZ LAP B) )
I've also installed Ground Environment Pro and am loving it. Look at the shadow on the mountain, it moves as the cloud cover shifts!

What model 747 is that, and how did you get that great angle?

I used IGFly's Walk and Follow, a handy little camera tool much the same as Active Camera. It's avaialble here: http://www.igfly.com/features.php?product=dbs-waf If I was you I probably wouldn't rush out and buy it though as FSX will come with a tool very similar to this standard :)

As for the model, that's good old Posky - paint available here http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... DLID=59911 Would love to have the PMDG 744 as it has the far superior model but don't think my laptop would handle it too well
