Hi all
Sorry for taking so long to start posting pics of one of my flights, so I decided to stop gazing in awe at what you guys have done and get out there and do it myself!

I don't know if any of you folk remember, but the Alpine Fighter Collection at Wanaka once had a Nakajima Ki-43 "Hayabusa"(Peregrine Falcon)/"Oscar". Sir Tim wanted it kept as original as possible, so they just made it taxiable, rather than compromising the original structure.

It was sold to the States a while back, so I thought it was time an Oscar was seen in NZ again. To reach this end I imported one of the new-build Texas Aircraft Factory Hayabusas, which arrived at Port Nelson last week. After a thorough inspection and the filling of various other paperwork, she was ready to go.

These pics are the result of ZK-OSC's second NZ flight (the first being the short ferry from Nelson to Omaka).

Hey ya Matey , were did ya get the "Oscar"! . Another Tim's , It has flown , bit like Howard Hugues H4 spruce goose .. 1996 'Simon spencer Bower' had it flying albiet only a 1 ta 2 meter plus high , then put it back down only to do a great little fist in the air act to the apperently but NOT! , above , the P40s/51s and others overhead to have him shot down ! ...Simon , guy bloody funny , all the restrictions and to play act so well !

Yeah, I was watching the video of Wanaka '96 yesterday. That was what prompted me to "bring" the Hayabusa back to NZ. It's a shame Simon didn't decided to go around due to being airborne ( ) but oh well, at least it had its little moment back in the air. Maybe someone would like to repaint "my" Oscar as the old AFC one......?

Hopefully it won't be too long before the TAF reproductions are entertaining airshowgoers around the real world. Kudos to Herb and George Tischler for taking the initiative to ressurect this fine aircraft.

Ian, have a search on FlightSim for "Bob Chicilo" or "CFS2 Oscar", and you should find it easy enough. I'm using the sounds from the AH Lavochkin as normally it just aliases to the Trimotor - not quite grunty enough for my tastes.
