Nice work Craig, if only Mike Stone's models had those 'dynamic reflections'

BTW, does anyone know how to make repaints "shiny", do you just have to add an alpha layer or something...?

Plus, where can we grad your PAC750 repaints?

If its a alpha channel need , I take a look to night when I get home ,should'nt be to hard... Hate not having home net access

Sweet aircraft the Fletcher Family , I was going to have a go myself at it, I started the FU-24 but got side tracked with other projects.

I remember the Fletchers back home buzzing around even at night heading into Feilding airfield , also remember watching them on a farm just out of Flemington on the other size of the ranges operating from the side of a hill, that most of us had problem standing up staight on  .

Trully a excellent design and as Crazy_Craig has pointed to , with the turbo prop the power is unreal.

Have you got DXTbmp - it's a useful little software (free) addon to save, convert and change file formats for all sorts of graphics. Take a windows bitmap and make it "FS9 usable" (and FSX)

Get it here

OK, open the basic bitmap in dxtbmp - you'll see a menu item "Alpha"

Here you can either see the existing alpha if there was one or you can creat a new one.

I usually "Creat Alpha Template" and then "Send Alpha to editor"

Once in Photoshop or Corel Photopaint, you can play with this as much as you want.

Black will make an area transparent, whit makes it matt (well, as far as the existing shine on the mdl file will allow - or in FSX, the specular file)

Don't make your "shiny areas" too dark. In Photopaint the most I use is grey 10%. Unless you want bare aluminium polished. Then head towards charcoal grey - and note: the darker your alpha, the lighter will be the surface of your plane in flight. So for bare metal, your base bitmap needs also to be fairly dark grey. Start at 60% and use trial and error.

I published a shiny skin for the RAS SF 260 "Ina the Macon Belle" - it's on avsim, search for Chris Brisland and you'll then be able to find it. This is about as "good as it gets" with the current FS9 textures.

If that's what you want for shine level, I'll gladly send the original in PSD format for anyone to take apart and see.

There's also a reflective gold foil version of the 260 (Italian Airforce 50th anniversary) - this shows a gold effect. Again, the yellowish colour in flight is almost dark orange in the bitmap because of the dark alpha.

Hope this helps and enjoy.
