Not really, you can stop at Stewart Island.
Seriously though, if there's scope for extending, I'd prefer the other end. The VFR Route crossing from Wellington via Tory point VOR has this small jarring section of default scenery... (or perhaps thats down for 'Real Scene Nelson'
