Bright B-52

This old girl was painted up as a tribute to the older B-52's, that worked as Motherships in the X-15 program. (Test Orange)

I believe that one of the NASA B-52s was named The High and Mighty One....and was referred to as the Biggest Mother of them all.
Charl, when the D models used in the Vietnam War had the Big Belly modification, they were referred to as Bomb Trucks.

Yes looks like the "J" model will shed all those appendages and become what the BUFF wanted to be when it grew up.
An astonishing avionics fit, clean engines more powerful than ever to lift a weapons load to die for (so to speak).
Standoff Master of all it surveys, and still oldern yer granpappy.
There must be a few Boeing engineers still around that could look with pride at all this and say We Did That.
