Across the North Atlantic in a Cirrus Vision Jet – Part 3: Deer Lake to Goose Bay

In the meantime, those guys have actually moved my aircraft to the edge of the ramp. Grin. Well, okay.

Now the flight planning presents a dilemma. Given the excellent weather, should I fly directly to Kulusuk in Greenland and thus be immediately ready for the flight to Iceland tomorrow? I don’t trust the weather. Right now, it’s simply “too good.”

I decide not to risk it and fly to Goose Bay instead. A short leg – approximately 340 NM – gives me the chance to fly the Vision Jet a little faster and stay at 23,000 ft.

The departure from Deer Lake was pure routine. I got out of the airport smoothly. The flight itself offered few highlights, and my gut feeling about the weather was correct. Nothing dramatic, but it is noticeably cloudier.

I was disappointed by the payware scenery of Goose Bay. Honestly, a complete flop – not convincing at all.

Loong way to go.
When you mentioned Bangor in a previous post, I assumed you had landed in Wales overnight!

Wales? You're always learning something new. I hadn't thought of that comparison.
