NZFF

On Sunday I started a flight from Wellington to Westport, in my favourite PMDG 1900d, but I had only reached the WB VOR when I had to go out somewhere and didn't finish the flight.

I saved my progress and quickly turned off the PC, planning to complete the flight another time. Unfortunately, my sim won't allow me to load saved flights, and in my saved flights folder, I can't find the .flt file for it anyway (both may have something to do with the quick turn off of FS and my PC. Sorry for the constant winging) so I only have a few departure from Welly and Cook Straight screenies.

Here are 10 screenies, perhaps a little repetitive, but showing off an excellent aircraft model and the REAL NZ airport we all love:












PS: Lastly, I have been editing heaps of my screenshots, tilting the horizons a little to make the resulting images look more like photographs, removing the complete flat levelled perfection which the simulator adds. Have you noticed this at all? Does it have a good or bad effect to you?

Cool pics. I must agree, the PMDG 1900d is great and I will defanitly get the Real NZ Wellington scenery when I get my new computer with FS9 running smothley

Yes, the tilt definitely improves the feel over the standard FS shot (as in 4th shot, particularly I reckon).
That it hasn't been commented on, is probably a tribute to the fact you've done it well!

I'd be less aggressive with the wide-angle views very close in, though.
Perhaps settle for part-views, less distorted.
Alex has a way with those, although he's a bit shy about posting his wares.

And no harm in agressive cropping to keep the plane out of the middle box, too.

Actually for someone with a crippled rig, you're producing some pretty good ones

Super shots.......they all look awesome, I think tilting the shot can be a good or a bad thing, depends on the shot. But no question that you got it right here!!!! Good job! Thanks for sharing

Yea, that'd be right if you replaced 'shy' with 'lazy'. Just to prove you wrong I'll go on a flight tonight and post the screenies.

And nice pics Trolly, but personally I'm not a big fan of the extra-wide angle lens you're using.

Very nice shots there! Real NZ is definatley on the shopping list once my credit card cools down!

PS: How is the PMDG 1900 on frame rates?

Hi Florian and welcome to NZFF!

The PMDG 1900d is amazing on framerates, which is particually important to low spec gamers like myself. The model comes with three variations:
1. 2D Cockpit (panel only, blank VC mode)
2. 3D Cockpit (panel and VC cockpit)
3. 3D Cockpit and Cabin (panel and VC cockpit and entire 3D cabin)

Mine will run the 3D cockpit ok but lags a little on the 3rd variation.
