Hi,

Can you please tell me if this is good, or bad/what is wrong? The aircraft if performing normally, an I haven't been given any warnings about this, so I guess it's alright...it just looks odd.

I suspect that this is the POSKY model and that on takeoff you had a tailstrike which now has large amounts of sparks pouring out of it

Ah okay, yes, it is the POSKY model, and I must admit I did try a bit of a steep rotation :D . Still flies alright though.

Your problem is definitely a tail strike. I do that sometimes.

Yep that happens regually when flying the POSKY 747. Try removing the effects file that came in the zip file from your main fs2004 directory to eliminate this.

It's never happened to me. FSX probably has something to do with it though.

And if you haven't already, maybe try reducing your fuel quality from 100% to make her a little lighter on take off.

The posky aircraft isn't particularly well modelled in my opinion when it comes to taking off. I can race down the runway, with the tail one foot above the runway, wings fully flexed, travelling 160+ knots and still not get off the ground (don't need to tell me about weights and fuel please ;) ) And then soon as it does get off the ground, it races up to 250 knots in a heart beat. Little wonder I moved on the the PMDG

If its that bad would i bother to use nearly 100mb of my dads download space(not that he ever uses any of it)? I got the meljet and posky mega packs and their all good

Okay. The reason is that you propably made a takeoff where you touch the ground. You'll have to remove the Opensky_sparks.fx from your effects folder. Then the problem is gone.

Flap settings may help here also. :)

Thanks all, I will keep the effects there (at least it will remind me not to do it again  ).

I had a look at my settings, and say that "Unlimited Fuel" was selected -- that probably had something to do with why the aircraft was so heavy!

I had flaps down three notches also.

Regards,
Matt :)

I shant tell you about fuel and payload, but can I mention trim? :P hehe j/k, poskys fualt they are good at exterior visuals, nothing else  even the tail strick effect is prety weak, if ya strike in there 330 youl no about it thow, not a hope of continuing flight, the aircraft flips on its back! haha

Also beaware of tail stricks on landing.. it can be quite a problem, especcialy in larger aircraft such as a 767, but if everythign is okay you shodul be able to flare to about 3 degress and touch down nicely..
