I saw Alister (Albatross) on IVAO flying a Hurri out of Wigram this morning and thought I would join him in a Spitfire.

It was a very short fling but the attached shots show Alister's plane has cunningly disguised itself as a Cessna Caravan, which must be new stealth technology ;)

1. A crisp CHCH morning, misty haze but still - perfect VFR conditions. After completing some rolls and getting used to the plane I am enjoying the serenity. Ahhhh the serenity.

2. Heading North passing over NZCH at around 6000', all's well. They seem to have fixed the oil leak at last.

3. Hmm, someone 4 o'clock low...

4. He's catching up... and lining up

haha cool shots Matt :D
It was fun chasing you around. I started out in a new Hurricane that was new for download at avsim, but it needs some airfile attention. Ended up in the Hawker Sea Fury instead (or Cessna in disguise) I look forward to doing it sometime with guns 'hot' on IL2 ;)

Here are some shots from me before you joined. Sorry I didn't get any shots with you, but it looked strange chasing down an A320  (beside the fact I was on the phone as well)

Parked outside NZWG (thanks to Ian Warren)

There should be a little more snow down there at the moment ;)

An excellent model of the Hurricane, but I'll be keeping an eye out for an airfile fix for it. Not pleasant to fly.

Nice pictures fellas-

I also saw the Hurricane on AVSIM but have not downloaded it yet.

I notice neither of you are using the old Godzone photoreal scenery for Chirstchurch and Banks Peninsular- is there any particular reason for this?

After a recent reinstall I haven't installed the old Godzone stuff (have it on the 4 cd's) as I have the 20 mesh and topo and thought it wasn't compatible, oh and I am lazy too :P

The topo makes NZ look more like NZ and I like the higher fps that non-addon scenery gives. If I am hooning about as above, or flying online I prefer not to have stutters so, yeah.

I too bought the 4 cds some time back, but being mostly an IFR pilot I didn't like the patchyness of the sceneries. They are fine flying around down low and inside the area, but up above at speed, the just show as blurry textures as you fly over that particular area. I'd rather fly over all photo real textures for the whole country, or all more mundane textures for the whole country.. not a patchwork quilt of textures :) (not to say they are not fabulous low and slow) I even tried the huge Canterbury VFR scenery someone released, but that was even worse. Arriving into Christchurch in a jet was just a blurry mess until I got to about 1000ft and slow on final. I'm sure it's just the fault of my computer though!
