NZFF July 2017 Screenshot Competition

The competition is now open!
NOTE: We now have TWO VOTES (one in each of TWO POLLS): One in the *visual appeal* poll and one in the *relevance* to the theme poll.
The two votes can go to the same entry or to different ones.
The winner in the "relevance" poll gets the sponsored prize and gets to suggest a theme for the next screencomp, whilst the winner in the "visual appeal" poll gets to have their banner displayed for the following month.

The July theme is: "If I were a rich man!" ... chosen by Adamski (winner of the May competition) - if you have any theme-related queries, send him a PM!

"That would be the sweetest thing of all.
If I were a rich man,
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man."

Which aircraft would you buy? Your Lotto win only covers you for a PPL (twin-engine rating) - so no Iron Maiden/Travolta airliners! Please say why, of all the hundreds at your disposal, this aircraft "has your name all over it" ...

This month's competition is kindly sponsored by Just Flight. The winner will receive a download of their choice from the excellent native Just Flight products.

SCHEDULE
Images can be submitted up until midnight Monday 31st July.
Images can be edited up until 11pm Monday 31st July.
Voting runs from Tuesday 1st August up until midnight Saturday 5th August.

Please read the rules below: if you have any queries, please PM Comp Admin for clarification **before posting your entry**.

    ELIGIBILITY
  1. Entry (and voting) for the competition is open to all registered NZFF members.

    THE SCREENSHOT
  2. The screenshot image must consist of a screen captured from a flight simulator program (FS2004, FSX, P3D, X-plane, DCS/IL-2 or War Thunder).
  3. Some editing is allowed: additional images can be added (either real or other screenshots), but the main component of the image should always be from a flight sim.

    IMAGE FORMAT
  4. The images can be jpg or png and must be EXACTLY 1280px wide (any depth).
  5. Though "visual appeal" is all about the complete screenshot image, bear in mind that (if it wins that poll), the final banner crops to around 1200px * 380px (max) - which is quite a narrow letter-box shape - so try to compose your shot so as not to lose areas of high interest.
  6. No frames or text on the image.
  7. Keep the original uncompressed/high resolution version (BMP or TIFF) saved on your PC - admin may request it from you at the end of the month to convert into a site banner!
  8. DCS users may want to look at these tips.

    SUBMITTING AN ENTRY
  9. Please post all screenshot/entries here - in this topic.
  10. Only one entry/single image per member is allowed.
  11. Images can changed any time up until 1 hour before the closing time: use the "edit" button at the top of the original post, delete the old image link and replace it with the new one.
  12. If possible, please add details of the aircraft depicted and general scenery/location information.

    VOTING
  13. After the competition entry deadline, all registered NZFF members may cast TWO votes: one for visual appeal and one for relevance to the theme.
The two votes can both go to the same entry or to different ones - but you must vote in BOTH polls.
  14. Entrants may not vote on their own screenshots (!).
  15. Voting runs for five days after the entry deadline.
  16. The winner in the "relevance" poll receives the prize from the designated sponsor and gets to suggest a theme for the next screencomp.
  17. The winner in the "visual appeal" poll will have a cropped version of their image posted as the NZFF banner for the following month.

That's it, folks - get snapping!

Adam.

I think I could just about afford the running costs of a Tiger Moth. I've managed to scrounge a joy ride in one of these in RL - truly unforgettable!

If I were a rich man.............. MD530 with custom paint on my private estate :P

I have always loved the 500 series helicopters and the 530 is the ultimate. They are the Ferrari's of the air, fast (for a helicopter) agile and powerful. Perfect for exploring the back blocks of New Zealand :D

It was a hard decision between this one and the DC-3, but my love of Tri-jets comes before the cliché in this competition ;)

Image

The Dassault Falcon 7x is the only Tri-jet that is still being produced, together with it's predecessor the Falcon 900. Gone are the days of the 727, Trident, DC-10, L-1011, and the slowly, the MD-11 :(

Hahaha ... very good and very true -- we get a lot for "almost" nothing!!

BUT ... I'm wondering about this disclaimer: "Your Lotto win only covers you for a PPL (twin-engine rating) - so no Iron Maiden/Travolta airliners!". ^_^

Good thing I already have my PPL, so I can invest the money in a type rating ;) and fly VFR in a jet :D

I'll change my entry too if it's not complying with the disclaimer, no big deal

Drat! I forget to mention the "NO SPITFIRES" rule (joke)

I think, to be honest, we'd ALL want one of those! I had to settle for something maybe a little more affordable in the long term!
