Hey guys
I just did a wee offline flight in FSX in the default Maule. It's a great aircraft, fun to handle, though I couldn't quite get the turns coordinated I must say :(

I went from Turangi to Taupo (basically across lake Taupo) VFR, exploring a few nearby bits and pieces

Ooo! What's all this then! Apparently there's some sort of wetlands to the NE of the field, so I dropped in for a look.

I wanted to see if it was actually water or just a texture. It's water!

After that I climbed up to 2500ft, before descending again to have a flyby of Motutaiko Island, sitting out in the lake. My originalplan was to do a maximum performance landing onto it, but it's a wee bit small. I did some harvard-style skiing instead.

A few floating bushes...

Anyway I climbed back up to 2500ft to fly straight in at Taupo.

There was a C172 operating in the circuit not far behind me so I had to keep my speed up.

Finals, a little high but with quite a high rate of sink

Finals, now right on the correct glideslope. Looking good.

Hope you enjoy, and thanks for the repaint Jon

Nice collection Brock, although I don't really like that FSX default scenery as much as FS9 :P

Love the Maule paint too- wish I could get FSX that sharp on my pc!

Cheers Trolly. Yeah some of the FSX stuff was ugly today - I doubt the wetlands by turangi look like that - anyone got any photos or FS9 shots?

Also on finals you'll notice the ugly ground textures of the taupo city. I think it's because of some tweaking, I'm gonna load up FSX soon and see if I can get it better.
