Well after the shock of Titanic, Nik and I, accompanied by Piper Warrior and our new friend in the 'boat' continued our world tour north, this time from Kaitaia, having arrived their yesterday from Auckland via Great Barrier and Whangarei/

This was our final push north, Kaitaia is the last airport between here and somewhere in Asia, so we decided to fly low and dirty in Helicopters to get a good view and feel for the terrain.

Approaching the top of the North Island

That flat area to my left is where SH1 finishes, and the lighthouse sits...well, in the real world it does anyway..

And here we are, the carpark at Cape Reinga

So far Nik and I have travelled from Stewart Island to the tip of the nth island, once we get back to Auckland we will then track down the west coast before heading across to the south island.

Finally, a thanks to Piper Warrior, a recent addition to our flights and the forum, welcome and thanks for flying with us.
