It's fun to go flying in real life, then recreate your flight in the simulator, epically when its over your local area and you have detailed photoreal scenery covering your route!

However, yesterday I went for a cruise with my mates on my mates dad's launch/yacht around the Hauraki Gulf. I've heard things about a website called 'FS-Shipyard' and so I decided to download a boat, and recreate my real world trip- on the water!

We departed Half Moon Bay marina, and first went into the Waitamata Harbor, and pulled right up next to the cruiseliner at Princess Wharf. There was a sign that said 'stay no closer than 20m away' but we were about 5m away lol B)

Next we went around the Viaduct, saw some traditional Maori catermaran thingy which we had a laugh at, then went under the Harbor Bridge and shouted and the bungee jumpers, and finally headed out to the islands... cruising at a whopping 30kias or something <_<

We moored up in Calypso Bay on Motuihe Island and had some lunch, then all jumped into the dingy, rowed ashore, went for a walk over the island to a beach on the other side and had some drinks :P

Somehow we got back to the dingy, and rowed back to my mates Dad who was waiting onboard still, then we cruised back to the marina in the late evening sun- a very relaxing day all in all.

I tried recreating the trip in fs2004- here are some screenies I took:

Oh yea, while on Motuihe, we saw all the BN Islanders turning overhead for Great Barrier. My mate thought they were "army planes" which was pretty funny, and he also thought Great Barrier Island was on the Great Barrier Reef
