This was a genuine Scary Moment.
OK it is not in NZ airspace, but fits the topic.
This was at the end of a long haul (as far as a BBJ can go) into Boeing Field, Seattle.
[Aside: the AI here is a wonderful package which simulates a collection of Boeing airliners just painted and ready to get sent off to their new owners. Nowhere else in the world will you see such a diverse collection of 737's]
ATC had just announced "Clear to land...follow the aircraft on the runway"
I had vowed not to mess up the end of this long flight, when out of the mist loomed this beserker 727 - just pulled out from the hold short for no apparent reason.
You can see from the control surfaces that this was a panicked reaction, but I missed, went round and landed safely.
It gets really TENSE when it really matters!

Thats an intense shot Charl!

I know the feeling well, sweaty palms on finals after a long jounrny, clutching the joystick as tight as possible with your finger hovering over the reverse thrust key!

I don't think I would have been able to hand that situation and would properly have crashed into that rouge 727!

I flew a long haul from Hong Kong to Rome a couple of years ago in an A340, which I'd never flown before. Usually if I'm going to do a long flight I make sure I know the plane well first, but this time I just decided I'd go for it. 10 hours or so later I was on approach to Rome and I must say I don't think I've ever concentrated so hard in FS before or since! Needless to say I ended up making one of my best landings ever I think, which was a great way to conclude such a long flight.
