Hi all

Heres a flight I did then wrote about last tuesday: (just taken me ages to upload lol)

Today my mum went out at lunch time so ,as soon as I finshed my mathes of course (I been doing trigonometry :P ), I fired up my fs and went for a "luchbreak hop".

Seeing as mum said shell be out for only 30mins I decided to go YBBN-YBCG in the posky 737-800NG.(a direct route)

Last week I installed the gfx driver I originaly had and found in some places I get alright fps (around 15-20) with the autogen on max and scenerycomplx one notch to the left of max. (note: this no longer is true, I have it way down and still bad fps lol)

1)Pushing back, note the neat ,little pushback truck and walking man when you press the pushback command.
I remember that bridge in the background from when we went to brisbane on holiday. Its a very big bridge!

2)Just after t/o, nice dynamic shine showing on the fuse.

3)VC. not the best as you can see. I had my vc guage qulity on lowest today so it looks prety bad. most of the switches don't work anyway..

4)i decided to cruise at 12,000". Heres just after level off about to intercept dct route to YBCG and maintaining 300kias for this trip. heres what the posky 2d looks like.

5)Theres the "goldcoast" as we begin our descent.

6)nice rolling hils, some "imation" clouds in the distance, prety unrealistic how theres so many clouds in a big ring around your plane all the time

7)Turning on to rwy heading. the performance drop begins and stutteres set in.

8)Getting very close now over top of the currumbin wildlife park, we went to this park a few mounths ago when we were there on holiday. It was a "night wildlife tour" lol with kangaross and stuff, but all the 737s that were just seconds from touching down was much more interesting :P

9)heres the 2d panel view, with 7 Frames per second, an improvment on my landing in yssy (a 763) with 4fps ):

10)For this flight I set a 23 knot wind and picked any random direction, it turned out that wind was a sortof across the rwy! I hadn't actuly noticed there was a wind untill I switched to spot and relised my plane had turned itself, its hard to notice such things when it feals like someones pressing the "P" button every 2 seconds.
I really dislike scenery that decides it'll try and load a million differnt 3d objects when your about 20meters from the threshold.

11)landed!, I paused the sim and let it load the textures and took this screenie.A bit off the ceter line due to the difficulties in landing a cross wind with less than 10fps lol

12)ow look its the controller, hey theres two, the one on the right is so frustrated with my flying hes banging his head on the desk!

13)In the few hours we were doing the "wildlife tour" I herd at least 10 737s fly over yet thers no airbridges here, my passengers were most relived when I found the command to put the stairs down, otherwise they would have had to jump!

Thats all I have. as you can see my fps were brilliant at the start but the final app didn't put me in a good mood. I cheered myself up thow: "not many ppl can land a slideshow as well as I just did!" hehe

So all in all I enjoyed this flight and recomend for what I like to call a "lunch break hop".

Aircraft: projectopen sky 738 and panel.
Scenery: VOZ 1.1 (I didnt voz any region before this flight) and YBCG scenery from avsim
Weather: coldfronts, I added extra wind
TTE: 35mins

Hope you enjoyed

Wow Jimmy- your graphics look excellent- certainly the best shots you have posted here at NZFF  Great job!

By the way, you are not alone with your stuttery approach at Surfer's Paradise. I also once had that scenery installed and got utter crap FPS on finals, as with the VOZ YSSY too. It also may help if you ran the sim in full screen mode. (Alt+Enter)

Fortunately though, they have named all the .BGL's in the scenery folder with a description of what each thing is, so you can cut the unnessercy scenery parts you don't need (static cars, fences, luggage trucks). This is not the case for YBSG though, as it is not part of the VOZ package, so once I found it gave me bad performance for the region, I just uninstalled it!

Also, could you link me to which 737 panel you are using? I'm still stuck with the default M$ one on my posky model!

Thanks for sharing your shots mate, they really are impressive

Thanks guys

Hi andrew, yeah I think i will uninstall that ybcg scenery, its not that great anyway. Switchin to full screen doesn't really improve but I do quite often do it for landings, no distractions!

That panel is avalible from projectopensky.com ;) As usual it was a messy installing process as usual with posky but worth it :P

yeah trignometry is actuly quite easy thow isn't it B) lol
