Alaskan Glaciers- Part 1

Post and comment on screen captures from the beautiful game here. Home of the monthly screenshot competition

Glacier Bay v2 by Holger Sandmann really does it for me. If your a GA bush plane enthusiast and enjoy rugged remote mountain scenery like the Southern Alps, or the Columbia River Gorge project, then you will absoulty love this one! Set over 90,000 sq km's in Southern Alaska, it features high detailed mesh, awesome landclass textures, roads, rivers, airports, 3D landmarks, AI traffic and of course, many huge glaciers and frozen waterbodys which are landable.

I have been exploring one tiny corner of this area, around the captial town of Juneau. I've taken 28 screenshots, and split them into two posts. I think they may possibly be the best set of screenies I have ever taken, purley because of the amazing scenery, see what you think ;)

The route I took in my FSNORDIC Maule lasted about an hour, going from Snettisham (7AK2), to Taku Lodge (TKL), then Juneau International (PAJN). This was my flight plan:

It's not a surprise to see that everyone is as impressed with this as I am- I can hardly hold myself back from flying there.

The weird thing is, I get pretty bad FPS around Juneau, even though I have run through the fixes on the FSADDON forums and in the manual that came with the download. I signed up to their forums yesterday, got an activation email this morning, logged in, hit the submit button on my post, only to get this message:

All I wrote was a question about removing .BGL files and a screenshot of this odd wake on a AI cruise ship that I found:

I wonder why the accused me of this :?:

Trolly, about the "spamblocker" at FSAddon

I am not sure, but didn't I spot a strange message from one of your nzff mail addresses a while back? My spamblocker had picked up on something dubious in my in box and I think we exchanged a message or two. This problem may be related - that's if I have the right incident in my memory - I may be mistaken, but I am fairly certain it was a mail ostensibly from you that turned out to be possibly a disgruntled ex NZFF forum user.

You can write to Francois of FSAddon by visiting the simflight forum at http://forums.simflight.com Francois is chief editor there. He'll be able to tell you what has gone wrong.

Ah yes Cbris, I just remembered that incident.

Yes, it seems "someone" likes to pretend to be me, and using my username in various mediums (e-mail, forums, multiplayer, FS-FBO) to try and discredit my name... pretty lame really.

Anyhow, I'm not sure how that could affect the real me signing up to a forum, as my real email address had to be validated. It is understandable that this "someone" could have signed up, using my real name and e-mail address falsly, but they would not have been able to access my account unless that had been keylogging me and found out my password...

I've contacted Francois and will see what happens from here...

EDIT: Francois contacted me, apologised for the inconvenience, and told me he had only been using the board for a few months and he was still getting used to it. His forum software had automatically banned my username which contained the word "Troll", which as Francois said is "a nasty on-line person" and I'd automatically been blacklisted. Too bad I picked my username which this current one derived from at a time when I was innocent enough not to know of these pathetic cowerdly forum trolls who need to create multiple alias's for themselves to voice their abusive opinions
