Not much sight seeing here - this place is always clouded in! I have decided to sneak out one evening under the cloud in something a little slower and follow the Tasman River to Lake Pukaki and then fly north to Tekapo. I will meet up later with the Baron - time for some low level scenic flying.

Looks like the intense flying activity that was going on around here the other day has died down (the persistent cloud dosen't help) - Squirels waiting for another bunch of tourists to arrive.

Approaching Tekapo airfield - wouldn't want to approach from the other end with that cloud hanging over the end of runway.

Well what you know it was a missed approach and I ended up in the cloud at the other end - nasty cross wind made landing tricky - it would of been better if I landed across the runway <_< Anyway safely down after another hairy approach and landing. Not as much activity around here but there is still a bunch of tourists eager to get out and see some lovely cloud - Air Safari Airvan taxiing out for another scenic flight - hope the passengers get to see something!

You can always count on Mt Cook to come up with some weather for the screenshots!
Liked the climbout pics....
Incidentally the AI Gippslands really do scenic flights, you can follow them all the way through (sometimes literally!) the mountains, and one even puts down on Tasman Glacier, wheels or no!
