We just got our Pit Lane list together, I would have called for some help with that but they limited us to 16 in pit lane plus a few extras for specific jobs. There was fierce competition for those 16 spots ! (I did manage to sneak one of my newbies from the A1GP weekend in though biggrin.gif ) At the moment I'm down to be 4th starter - the one on ground level, not sure what exactly I do, maybe car numbers for penalties which would be a bit silly to do from up the tower ...

I had a link to a volunteer info sheet which said they'd be providing breakfasts instead of lunches this year but I'm not at home and can't find it on the website. You guys may have other arrangements for food, plus of course there's whatever you confiscate from people trying to take their own in laugh.gif

We have to provide our own accommodation. Some of us are staying with friends but I believe RATS has a block booking at a YMCA somewhere not too far away, maybe if you are still looking for places then with our much smaller team this year we might have some spare room ...

I'll see you down there !

Shouldn't you have a C of A (Certificate of Approval) and be licenced to do security work?

This is issued by the Registrar of Private Investigators and Security Guards after having had a Police check and other background checks.

Probably not. From what Dan posted the jobs sound like bag and ticket checks on external and internal gates - the actual security stuff at these things normally seems to end up with Red Badge.

Hey no you wont need a C of A as you will be doing bag checks etc and you will be working along side professional security personal.
And I now know that accomidaiton will not be provided but a bus from cambridge will leave at 5-45am and food will be provided.

Please let me know if you are keen and OVER 18

Thanks
Dan

Two relevant questions, and yes, I'm well passed applying myself but years of experience cause me to ask....

A. How much does it pay (yeah right.)

B. How many hundreds of metres would the bag checking site be from an actual glimpse of the event...?

And as a motor racing fan for many years - how about the "unveiling" of the restored Ferrari 750 at Manfield - not that is worth having a look at. !!!

Good luck
