Guys I decided to sign into Games for Windows live in order for me to save my game progress on GTA IV yesterday night and made a new account, When i tried to sign in it kept declining the password so I changed it and it still did the same. I found this to be a pain so I created another account and had the same login issue. The game works awesome and very smooth but I can't save the game until this Login thing for Windows live Games. Also the Rockstar games club which is part of the game dosen't pick up my interent connection even when it's connected and is not blocked by the firewall??

Any Suggestions to these issues would be great

have u guys had any probs with the graphics and or multiplayer saying your pc is too slow

If you alt tab while in multiplayer you will get dropped from the multiplayer session with the message your pc is running to slow, it's something they coded into the game, probably to prevent memory hacking.

Your single player game isn't backed up online, only you windows live achievements. You only need windows live to join multiplayer games and rock star to upload videos.


To get games for windows live support go here live.xbox.com (ya it's xbox, but it's all the same network)

ok i havent done that but iam running it on a 3.6 ghz hypertrheading single core with 2 gig of system ram and 256 meg video ram but i still get the your pc is running to slow message and ive tried evry thing i can think of but other i have spoekn with have said my machine will run but just not as good as others

no my PC is way grunty enough, I just need help saving it as that stupid live thing

i know how u feel i have nothing but problem after problem with this game and is a shame such a good game still has a lot of bugs i have had the windows live problem u have but it fixed it's self so i don't know what more i can do
u may want to try the going to www.gta4.net and using the forums on there as they have a rockstar tech on there and he been able to help me out alot

So it was doing the same thing with you, Not letting you log in. As I couldnt care about it but i do as it wont let me save my game. So that pisses me off.
It is a shame but has heaps of bugs

also i suggest u got to www.gta4.net as they have all the fixes and advice and also a lot of mods to make gta4 heaps better

Sorry Dnkiwi, your computer aint good enough. Your video and ram is probably alright, but single core is a big no no. Core Duo atleast, Quad core is the best.

no its nothing todo with his specs, the game runs perfecto on mine which is less.....

contact Windows Live because ive got 2 accounts, 1 online that i can play multi on and one offline account that you can only play offline gaming on. Both have worked and i have saved them both

as for the glitches mentioned, there must be something todo with your instal or disc cos im running mint, there was a slight hiccup at the start when i started speeding and i got to the places before they loaded, but ive fixed that and it is running sweet

BTW anyone keen for a multi on it ???

if u go to this link and post your problem they will help u out http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showforum=240 if any one can help and not pass the buck these guys can .i have gta4 working with premo graphics on singleplayer but the multiplayer is a hard cookie to crack and beat also if any of u otherguys have a problem with the game go to www.gta4.net and click the forums tab at the top of page before u go to microsoft as the the tech guys on the site can normally fix the problem quicker

also check that uu are running the very latest windows live console as this also aided in fixing this problem

please dont swear...

if its just the live then you should have contacted them a long time ago. having said that, it doesnt impair the game in any way, so the game can be enjoyed to the full. Also by not saving each time you can run a different story line by killing or not killing the victim etc so each time would/could/should be better/different


that problem i mentioned was fixed by installing the GTA update through Live or something

I am going get in contact with Live but what I find is so stupid is that you have to be singed in to Windows livei for games in order o save, How stupid is that

from memory there is a post on the site i mentioned about a free mod/addon that will allow u to save while being offline but i can't for the life of me find the post i will however keep looking .pilot.masman i would be keen to link up for game but sadly i need to fix the multiplayer speed message first so i take a rain check on it at this stage

as i have mentioned somewhere, there are 2 types of accounts, online/offline, i have both because at the start i couldnt get my socialclub to work so i had the offline one but when i got it going i had to make a new online account (losing what storyline i had completed )
