If your on a slow dial up connection (like me) and uv been watching freeware addon aircraft downloads etc.. getting bigger and bigger :( , this can be realy helpful .........

Free Download Manager (FDM) is a full-featured download accelerator and manager. It is absolutely free! Using this software product you can easily download a list of files and whole web sites from any remote server via HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. With FDM the downloading process will be as easy as never before!

FDM is a light-weight, powerful and easy-to-use application. Also this software product is well-known for its intuitive and user-friendly interface. FDM can function as a site manager, accelerator, site explorer and scheduler.

FDM can resume broken downloads. So you needn't start the downloading process from the very beginning after casual interruption. You can resume unfinished download from the moment when it was interrupted. Also this program warns you if resuming isn't supported by the servers. It allows you to make a decision about the downloading. So with FDM you save your time and money.

FDM is an indispensable tool for download acceleration. It splits files into several sections and then downloads them simultaneously allowing you to increase your download speed up to 600%.

This software application can be used in automatic mode. You can schedule the following operations: set or hang up the Internet connection, exit from the program and shutdown the computer. All the operations mentioned above can be set at the specified time.

FDM allows adjusting traffic usage. So it provides you with an opportunity to browse web pages much faster if you use a low connection speed.

You all probably have somthing like this but i thort id put it here anyway.
its realy great being able to stop and start downloads (great for when you need to use the phone) and the incress in speed up to 600% faster :D

Spyware is any type of unwanted program that can be put into software downloads and main function is to really grab info (even things such as bank account numbers, private files and so on) on a persons' computer and relay it or info on it back to another computer or person.

It slows a computer down a lot and is quite a task to get rid of...believe me I know, my last computer was infected with about 20 of em'

I supose leving it connected to the internet all night can be a bit risky if theres people trying to get my information etc..

I recomend you get this if you download a heap of stuff its neat how i can make a list of things i want so all i have to do is connect and press start.

It affects the computer in general and yes you would notice it on internet speed although the connection speed would be unchanged.

I reccomened Mozilla Firefox as the best internet browser around. It is built from the old "Netscape" code, which was the original M$IE rival, and today is much better than the default M$IE6.

It includes a download manager with it which allows you to pause and resume downloads whenever you want.

It also has tabbed browsing, a built in google bar, anti-popup protection and much much more.

Check it out here: www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Better, similar to Mozilla and can emulate either. Anything other than IE has fewer security issues. Microsoft isn't compulsory.
