Try and see if you can
see my webcam.EDIT: I've switched the camera off since it's dark, but if I awaken to a snowy wonderland, I'll turn it back on.
Ok, so it rained all night and took most of the snow away, which annoyed my daughter heaps. I also notice that my IP address has changed overnight, so I've changed the URL.

Snowing here in Kaiapoi, just started to settle. 2nd time in one year? Normally I only see snow here once every 2 years or so.

Yer even had a light dusting here in Rotorua, which is unusual.
The top of Mount Ngongotaha definitely and apparently the Lynmore Hills got a bit of snow on them.
Not real snow up here, just a weird kind of snowy sleet when it rained.

Heck, it looks like we're going to get another dusting of snow. Looks like sleet here now.

Nice view Robin- how do you set that up?
And far out the sun sets early down there- is that a live stream video or static images updated every few seconds?

Well, not quite as dark here as the webcam suggests, but I'll keep it running for a bit.
All I do is aim the webcam out the window -- the software does all the work, took about 5 minutes to download and install. It sends a video stream, but of course limited by my upload speed. Try turning the FPS down to 1 and the quality up a bit -- there's a menu at the top of the pic when you cursor over.

Your webcam looks really good Robin

I like the way you configured it, good idea using your own connection rather than uploading

I went out to my grandparents' house to see the snow on Saturday.
It was actually kind of cool though I didn't see why everyone was really excited about it.
I guess it was only the fifth time in 44 years it has snowed in Rotorua.

Although it's not snowing here in Auckland, I thought I'd download yawcam just to see if I could get it to work.
Tell me if you can see the sunset here:

http://192.168.1.7:8081There's no way that address will work - 192.168.1.7 is a local network, so only users connected to your computer will be able to see it...I think

There should be another link with your actual IP address rather than the local address

I had a look at mine, but there are again problems with Port Forwarding to allow access to it

Yes, if you go to the Settings: Edit Settings: Connection, then click the 'what's my URL' button it'll give you a web URL and an internal network URL. We want the web url.
