NZFF

Hi

I bought battlefield 2 (BF2) recently and have downloaded the new patch v 1.41, but to my horror it dosent's install. I double click it the .exe and it shows the waiting symbol on the cursor for about 10 secs, then nothing happens. I press ctrl+alt+del and it shows up in processes list but still nothing happens.

Any body know what I'm doing wrong?
Do I have to D/L and install all previous patches?

Just thought I would post this here before going to the BF2 fourms.

Are you waiting for long enough? If I recall correctly the application doesn't seem to be patching but after leaving it for a few (5 - 10 ) minutes it came up with a completed message.

If this doesn't work I would suggest you try re-downloading the patch as there may be a problem with the one you got.

The NZ BF2 scene is pretty well dead and buried, however Forgotten Hope 2 is about to finally be released, which may re-ignite things. Personally I haven't played BF2 for a year or more now.

You may get some help from The NZ BF Forum if you canot get it going.

That name seems awfully familiar... you didnt happen to favour the sniper rifle by any chance did you?? I vaguely remember some decent sniper battles with the DMZ crew...

LOL, I'm not a sniper as such but I'm bloody handy with the K98 or any other engineer rifle.... My style is not to rush in and spray n pray but to take it easy, be patient and make my shots worth it lol.

There have been two NZ 'rifle hunts' - a knockout competition of 2 vs 2 using the XWW2 mod and the FH mod - a cat and mouse game of generally one shot one kill ... if you missed your first shot the enemy knew where you were! I fluked the first competion and successfully defended my title in the second comp. That's really my only claim to fame lol.

DMZ has now disbanded as a clan, but I'm stuck with the name as my Battlefield 2 log-in, however most of us are playing as NZOG .... NZ Old Guns... the wrinkly brigade.

Double click it ONCE then leave it. For me it always takes a few minutes before the setup screen pops up. Don't expect it to come up instantly because it doesn't.

Ok, thanks for your replys. Im downloading the file as I speak (i deleted it because we didn't have much room on the hard drive, and didn't get our internet renewed until today)

OK I downloaded the patch, ran it, and it works (after a while, impatient me) but i don't have enough room on my HD. Am waiting on a 160 GB HD to be ghosted though so shouldn't be far away

this could be of help. I haven't done it before.
